Great torch
Really good although it seems to turn itself on anytime.

Good Value, Well made, tight beam angle - 5 degrees
Seems well made. Fit and finish are nice. Works both in and out of water so far. Battery lasts plenty long. Beam angle is really tight at 5 degrees. Comes with extra O-rings and a charger. Really like the threaded hole for mounting.

Underwater lightsabre - tight spot is perfect for daytime critter hunting
The XTAR D26-1600s is an underwater lightsabre. This updated “S” model is concentrated into an ultra-bright, insanely tight 5-degree spot with a useful 90-degree spill. This type of diving light is ideal for use during the day (pointing out creatures and peeking under ledges), in poor visibility (where sloppy torches create a cloud of backscatter), and at night (for easy signalling). At a distance of 2 meters, the hotspot diameter was just 8.5cm.The package arrived from Amazon in two days with the torch, a 5200mAh lithium-ion battery, charger, charging cable and wrist lanyard. There is also a spacer tube to use more commonly available 18650 batteries if needed. A scratch-off anti-counterfeit sticker is on the outside of the box.The torch is very well made. I couldn’t see any rough edges or unfinished areas. There are two generously lubricated O-rings keeping everything sealed. I set aside the included wrist lanyard and zip-tied a snap-bolt (not included) to the tail. The switch is a spring-loaded magnet that is very easy to press. It has a long throw of about 7mm but will activate easily with a short tap. Unlike prior models, the switch does not have a turn-to-lock mechanism. There are four useful light models selected by a quick press of the switch. Each mode progresses in sequence from OFF > High > Medium > Low > “Turbo” > High > Medium > … You have to press and hold the switch for 2 seconds to turn it off. There is no mode memory – it will revert to high mode. Holding the switch for 5 seconds activates the electronic lockout. You’ll need to hold the switch for another few seconds to release the lock and resume use. I would keep the torch ends unscrewed while in transit as the light may accidentally activate. This is the perfect torch to carry on every dive. I love using it to point out critters and explore under rocks and ledges. The beam is so intense that it works perfectly during the day and dialling it down to medium is perfect for night dives. The battery seems to last forever. I put it on turbo in a bucket of water and it was still going strong after two hours. I’d charge it once or twice on a multi-day liveaboard.
