I want to start this review off with the explanation – I don’t like guns. I am not and have never been comfortable with them despite having been around them and shooting them since I was probably eight or nine. I have recently decided I would like to get my concealed carry, but I wanted to develop an extreme familiarity with using the gun, drawing, aim, etc. it is simply my belief that if you are going to carry a gun, you better have spent every effort on skill with one. So I purchased the laserlyte Pistol Cartridge Kit (.45 .40 .280 .9mm) and 4 Rumble Tyme Lasers, and the Scoretyme Target that comes with two practice guns. This is the perfect system for people like me, my aim was already good, but this has actually refined it to a much tighter grouping. You can practice in a variety of settings and light conditions which helps to prepare you for any encounter you might have to use a gun in. Its never going to be a straight forward event at the range. I think their products are especially helpful for night shooting since you can't shoot at night at ranges. I keep it in a range bag and have brought it over to friend’s houses and enjoying shooting as a game using the scoretyme and practice one hitting the rumble cans from various distances.Pistol Cartridges- I’ve used the 40, 9mm, and the 380. The .45 I had trouble with, but I’m inclined to believe it's something with my gun. I will update the review if it becomes necessary to return or replace the .45 round. The bullets are placed directly into the barrel, and the firing pin will strike the button causing the laser to go off. The button keeps the firing pin from damage similar to a normal snap cap. We did also try the 9mm in a carbine, it worked flawlessly but be sure you have a gun cleaning kit or something long enough to push down the barrel without damage as you do push these bullets out of the barrel. For the pistols, a pen or eraser is fine, nothing that will damage the barrel. The carbines you will likely need the cleaning kit, and I honestly would just buy the rifle version rather than risk the pistol round getting stuck in a carbine. The rumble targets- these are fun for placing around the house, or around the backyard and then having people have to adjust to shooting at each of them or to hide them and use it as a simulates scenario where you don’t know where your target will be about you. I highly recommend picking up at least four of them; I think I’m probably going to increase to eight to allow a more intense experience. If it's on a rough surface these will not rotate all the way around and it might get sideways a bit so try to keep them on something flat and smooth or reset them after each round as needed. It also really encourages a tight grouping and accuracy given the target area is quite small.Scoretyme target set- this is sort of the essential for accuracy and competition between friends. It sets up scores according to time, or you can just fire a set number of shots. It shows your score and also informs you where you hit on the screen. It is a lot like crossing a game of darts with guns. We have used it as a drill for drawing, timing from the time someone yells burglar to the time it takes to hit the target, plus then judging where the person hit. This helps establish the speed of shot vs. accuracy of the shot. The blue laserlyte guns - the guns are heavy, intended to mimic real fire farms. They are not as heavy as a fully loaded 9mm or 45 would be, but they are heavy. The larger gun was also way off on it’s aim. You correct this with an alan wrench (there are directions, and it comes with the wrench). This was an easy fix, and I like the adjustability.Al in all, I cannot recommend the products enough. It is worth the price to refine your skill and accuracy it might literally save your life.

Best investment you can make for improving your shooting skills.
Absolutely great! My shooting accuracy went up by several notches in just the first week of usage. The method of scoring and resetting etc is brilliantly implemented, you can just stand back and shoot, then shoot the score circle, write down your score and then shoot the reset circle and start again without having to go back to the device. If I have any gripes it's that you really need to count your shots because if a second one land on top of another you still only get one LED lighting, so you need to do the math of dividing your score by the number of shots to figure out were the non visible ones landed. They really should have used triple pin LEDS so that the duplicates would show up in another color. The count down and draw timer is great for increasing your draw and shoot speed and it's even better if you have a double action auto or a revolver, for me with a single action it's a bit more challenging, but none the less it gives me excellent results for that all important first shot. The construction of the case and everything else is OK, but it's not spectacular and could have been better but it's good enough to get the job done. There is a wall mount hole on the back along with the battery case for 4 AA batteries and the on/off switch is on the side.Overall if your looking for a method of improving your accuracy, this may be one of the best ways of doing it short of going down to the range. It's also the safest way possible to practice quick drawing and firing.

Target is an excellent training tool
Target is an excellent training tool. Would have appreciated something like this back in the early 40's when I first started shooting. Will continue to use the target in our recreation area inside our home 12 months a year and will utilize it to train my younger wife so that she will be able to defend herself if it ever becomes necessary in our quickly changing country. Having been shot at previously ( he missed, I didn't ), and also getting hit my many shotgun # 8 shot when an idiot @ a trap shoot using a 12 ga automatic turned from his station @ 5 to go to #1 as I turned from #3 to shoot next @ # 4. Their were only 4 shooters! He put a round into the concrete and I was struck in various places. To avoid swinging my 12 ga into an arc which probably would have removed his stupid head from his neck, I threw it down on the ground which damaged my stock along with the pellet damage. After treatment at the hospital and arriving home, I later shipped the gun to Remington and asked them to replace the stock. I would pay for my damage and request the shooter to replace the other piece. They returned my gun with excellent improved wood at no charge. A great company to do business with. Sincerely--H. R. "Dutch" Taylor ( incident took place @ MIssoula, MT in the early 70's, if you wish to verify!) Other shooting in Miami while on duty as a Police Detective.

I use it every day...
I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was not disappointed. I use this target every day for dry firing with my LaserLyte pistols and my 9 mm and .40 cal Glocks with LaserLyte cartridges. However, do not expect to use this outside in the daylight. Any direct sunlight, even through a window will cause it to fail.

Works well with some red lasers
If it is dark and I am near the target I can get the target to work with the CoolFire trainer with extended a shot laser. It works well with the 9mm cartridge alone or the practice guns. It does not work well with my shot guns or ar-15 because the way the cartridge gets activated is to short in duration or to weak of laser output.
