Not suitable for low frequencies e.g anything below 150hz
After a number of failed attempts to get an answer from the manufacturers regarding the frequencies cancelled out by these plugs ( There is a low frequency noise being omitted in my location from a factory site) I decided to buy anyway. Whilst they work on mid range frequencies they are not working on frequencies below 150hz.Update 15/08/20After months of trying my opinion is that they are useless for most noises that causes issues for many people diesel ac units factory noise etc. They are complete waste of time and considerable amount of money with no offer of a refund from the manufacturer £130.00 GBP about 160 euro / dollar. I couldn't recommend these to anyone and the advertisement is pure fiction and a complete misrepresentation. I subsequently bough 150 pairs of 3m classic ear buds for less than 10% of the cost of these and they work better.Don't buy you will regret it.PS if you want them for sleeping please note that if you lie on them i.e. you sleep on your side they will whistle if the if the bud airway is blocked - waking you up!!!!!

Do your research! Understand what these are...
I strongly suspect that some of the reviewers have not fully understood what they are purchasing. These are both passive and active noise cancelling ear plugs that can attenuate sounds to a higher degree than a standard passive ear plug can. They are made specifically to block loud machinery but allow you to still hear someone speaking to you, just take a look at the graph in the details, these will function far better than the standard passive earplugs will. They are not intended to be used for sleeping in a normal setting, on an airplane maybe but not in a normal house, you will need the specific ‘Quiteon Sleep’ earbuds for that.If you are expecting to have complete silence once wearing these then you should probably be looking for a sensory deprivation chamber. No ear defender is ever going to achieve this as your skull can deliver sounds directly into your Cochleae bypassing your eardrums, this is how the bone induction headphones work. How do I know this? As it happens I have Tinnitus which is only getting worse as I’m getting older, my Father is virtually deaf because of it, and I work with loud machinery. Because of this I know what my regular ear plugs do for me and what the Quiteon plugs can do in comparison, they are far better at blocking the machinery sounds but I can still hear someone speaking to me whilst they are running. As an added bonus they appear to have an effect on your own voice as well. When I wear standard ear plugs my own voice is very loud due to the previously mentioned natural bone induction, I’m 6’3” and have a big voice so it can sometimes be quite deafening to raise my voice over machinery sounds whilst using a standard ear plug, not so with the Quiteon plugs. In fact, my colleagues have asked me to speak up as they are unable to hear my voice over the machines due to their inferior ear plugs, my voice sounded far more natural to me than with previous protection, I was speaking at normal volume because I could barely hear the machine behind me but my voice was drowned out as far as they were concerned but at the same time I wasn’t being deafened by my own voice inside my head. For this alone I would have payed the money for the buds, it makes the whole experience of wearing them another degree more comfortable.I must add that I purchased these earbuds, they were not sent to me for a review by Amazon or Quiteon. I also own Bone Induction headphones that I can use in conjunction with these buds as a standard headphone or earbud will either not stay in my ear or I cannot hear the music/spoken word properly due to my Tinnitus. Hence why I went with this option rather than the all singing, all dancing ACN earbuds that are all the rage presently. I did research into them, but decided that for the money I would prefer to have something that was guaranteed to protect my ear drums whilst I used my Cochleae to listen to my books/music.On another note, if you read the instructions you get with the buds, they mention that the high pitched squeal has a purpose, try reading them before you leave a bad review, you never know, it might help!

Don't waste your money
Do not buy this product. The company are aware that they produce a high pitched screeching noise and have designed a newer (black) model but Amazon are still selling the old (white) product with all the advertising promises of the newer model. It is also impossible to get your money back as Amazon and the company are arguing over liability. I am considering trading standards as the next step as i have emails to the company sent within the first month of purchasing them proving that they were deficient from the beginning.

They are fine for aircraft where there is significant additional noise
They are OK however don’t block out as much noise as I had hoped. They are fine for aircraft where there is significant additional noise, however they won’t help with a snoring partner.

Save your money. But foam ear buds.
Unusable. I'm so frustrated having wasted my money on this product. Emits a beeping sound when you're trying to sleep. Work no better than normal foam buds, for a couple of pounds. Don't waste your money.

Great pair of ear plugs!
It was bought as a present for my wife. Nice package, nice design, maybe the supplied USB cable is a bit too short. My wife works in a noisy office environment (people talking around, taking phone calls etc.). She says that the plugs cancelled about 80% of the noise, which is really great! As a downside, after a longer period of continuous usage, she says that some sort of whizzing sound can be heard, but I am pretty sure that this is a side effect of active noise cancellation. All in all, a nicely designed device that gets the job done, hence five stars.

Had to return them
My wife purchased these to block some noises I might make at night. While we could both testify to the functioning of the product, using the range of different sized inner ear plugs the actual body was too large for my wife to sleep with comfortably and so we had to return the product.

Fraudulent Marketing, Useless Customer Service
This product doesn't do what it advertises to and came with fittings that didn't fit the ceramic bud part of each of the plugs. Don't buy this product, it is a complete waste of money.
