I got these so I didn't have to change the thread in the bobbin holder when I was tying different fly patterns. They hold the spools firmly, and so far, the ceramic inserts are super smooth. I only had 1 bobbin holder before this (one that came in an inexpensive fly tying starter kit) but this is a nice upgrade. Now that my son wants to try fly tying, he's using my original vise from the kit and one of these bobbin holders. It works well in my big hands, as well as his 11yo boy hands. I'm on a budget with my tying tools and materials, and this fills my needs great. I rarely rate anything 5 stars, but this is a rare occasion where I really have no downside to the purchase.

I like having multiple thread types ready to go... I have been putting these through it. They are good.

The porcelain guides are awesome. They allow smooth feeding of the thread for neat wraps. I would have liked the spool holders to hold larger spools of thread. When trying to use a larger spool the holders apply too much pressure for smooth feeding.

I couldnt find my bobbins after I moved, so I bought this set. They work great and are a good value for the money.

Made over two hundred wet and dry flies. Ready for the fall.

I’m not a real expert yet but I really like the control that I have with this Bodkins ,I have the brand that’s yellow in color and it seems to be a little bulky for me ,but these worked perfectly. I possibly will purchase more. They keep your thread really tight, and are the perfect length.

I have never had a bobin threader before being 75 years old and trying to put 8/0 thread into a bobbin would be quite a chore having not tied flys for twenty years. I like the ceramic ferrules as they are easy on light thread. I also like the length of the bobbins as they allow me to "palm" the spools of thread.

Works well and protects the thread. Very high quality and feel/look good
