RoyPow I81 high speed and portable air compressor & tire inflator used for motorcycle, bicycle, balls and air cushion inflation

ITEM REVIEWED: ROYPOW 151 COMPRESSOR:Don't laugh but... for the last 20 years (almost) I have carried a 10kg battery pack of 38x25x18cm and thought it was wonderful - until it let me down on the remotest track in the Scottish Highlands where I was stranded with a puncture and no means of reinflating my tyre until a helpful motorist passed by some 4 hours later. At this point I resolved to replace my dated compressor.Needless to say, I was delighted to receive this one as a free sample in exchange for a fair, honest and unbiased review. At 10x11x4cm and weighing just 293g, ie less than 3% of the weight of my current contraption, this could not be more different.I have tested it on my car tyre and a bike tyre and performance is good. Simply fit it to the tyre valve, connect to the car's 12v socket (when I bought my previous compressor, 12v sockets weren't fitted in cars as standard), switch it on and wait for the dial to indicate the correct pressure has been reached and then switch it off. It uses power from the engine battery so it's advisable to run the car engine while it's in use to avoid flattening the vehicle battery - and the battery must have adequate voltage to power the compressor. The 2.7m (approx) of cable was ample to reach from my vehicle dashboard to the rear wheel on the opposite side.It took about about 9 minutes to inflate my 175/65R14C tyres from 0 to 45psi which I am very happy with and is a mere fraction of the time it would take its bulky predecessor and was significantly quieter too. My 20" bike tyre inflated to 60psi before I'd even had chance to time it. Although my bike uses standard Schrader fittings, a presta fitting is supplied along with an inflator for paddling pools and footballs.I deliberately chose the version with the EC5 connector which allows the option of connecting the compressor to the new ranges of jump starter/powerbanks which adds to the versatility of these. I have several jump starter/powerbanks yet none have a compressor feature and I believe RoyPow will be launching one soon so the compressor will be an additional bonus.My only slight niggle is that the air hose connector is rather short at 10cm and if the tyre valve is at the top then there's a risk the inflator could be suspended from the top - but it's so lightweight this probably doesn't matter.For anyone looking for a small, compact and effective compressor then this is a good one to choose and especially if you're also a user of jump-starter/powerbanks because this can be used with one - brilliant!SECOND ITEM REVIEWED: 120W ROYPOW TRANSFORMER:As year-round off-grid campers with two campervans, a boat and cabin all equipped with 12V electrics, we have a lot of equipment in daily use which runs solely from 12-volt which, occasionally, we would also like to use at home. This transformer is the answer and enables all 12 Volt appliances, up to 120 watts, to be powered via the mains.Simply plug in the unit to a mains socket and connect the 12V appliance to the 12V socket, switch on and use the appliance. It’s ideal for running 12V powered coolboxes, and even the RoyPow compressor shown on this page, via mains. This is particularly useful for inflating bike tyres via the compressor when out of reach of a 12 volt power socket of a vehicle or for general indoor use. When my husband was ill in bed, he needed a constant supply of cool water but couldn’t get downstairs to the kitchen fridge so had the 12 volt coolbox running beside his bed.The transformer works well, quietly and efficiently and is now in regular use. Definitely a good purchase for anyone using 12 volt appliances regularly.

Does not work on a football. Showed it to an expert and he too could not get a standard UK football filled up. I was away for 3 weeks soon after the delivery or else I would have returned it.

the gauge is rubbish check with independant pressure gauge

First one was faulty , replacement received within three days of complaint.

It's small enough to fit under the seat of my Suzuki VStrom 650 and far more powerful than its diminutive size would suggest. I replaced the standard 'cigarette lighter' plug with a Hella/DIN type to suit my bike. So far, I'm impressed.

after using for the first time I found it useless and I am still waiting for a refund
