Got doubts?!
So my Desktop computer year 2000 rather basic Cambridge Soundworks speakers suddenly gave up - but what to replace them with? The current computer has High Quality Realtek soundcard. I need small-ish size, don't want an additional amp, those USB ones mean less power requirement. I could go for those modern looking superslim tower things, but how much better will they be for £80? Subwoofer? - my toes don't require a sonic massage.Uses? mostly internet radio, youtube for 80s memories, Skype and the occasional CD.The USB ones seem to have very low power and some problems. I didn't want to spend £15 and then feel short-changed, then came across these, with low-ish cost and high output, look good in pictures. Well worth I try, I thought.....Against: short cables but fine if main system box is on desk, bit of jiggling if not, I know longer cables can be bought. Power switch at back rather than on front (I'll get used to it)For: Look good, feel well made and sturdy. I'd say excellent performance for the size. I'm not an expert but bass is clearly there, volume will never need to go high, so no distortion at the lower levels. Clarity much better than previous.Delivery - coming up to New year 2013, ordered 29th Dec at 1am, delivered 1pm today, 31st Dec - on standard saver delivery! (Gadget Shop was the supplier, thanks!)

Ricco 2.1 Karaoke system
Bought for my daughters birthday as she loves to sing and really wanted a Karaoke machine. I looked at a few of the usual branded ones but for the price I could of bought a full stereo system until I found this one.Upon arrival the system was well packaged. The speakers were easy to connect to the main unit as well as the power lead, also a audio lead is supplied so you can plug in a device with a 3.5mm earphone hole, I plugged in my Samsung S4, my telly and an old mp3 player and both worked on this system. There is also a SD card slot, this slot is for a large SD card not a micro, so a large SD card is needed or adaptor which is 94p on Amazon. The sound from this unit is awesome, the subwoofer is built in to the unit and the speakers give out a fair whack without being turned up to full volume, the bass is good and doesn't go all farty with bassy tracks at full volume. There are 2 microphone ports so you can sing duets and both have adjustable volumes. Now for my daughter's most favourite feature and that's the built in disco lights on the front display. There are different settings for these lights from noise activated to preprogramed setting, all adds to the Karaoke experience. The look of the unit and speakers is very nice and only slightly darker red than in picture shown.

but the active speaker has a terrible hissy crackling from it
The passive speaker was clear, but the active speaker has a terrible hissy crackling from it, which completely ruined the quality of the sound.Stay away from these. Look for some H50BT by MicroLab, even 2nd hand will be better than these. The quality is superb.

Ricco Speakers
Not too bad. Sound quality is good (better from the computer than from MP3 player), rich and deep with good definition across the spectrum. Good for watching video on the computer and for playing music from the interweb but a disappointing lack of volume. This isn't so much of a problem for 95% of my listening as the Home Secretary only moans if I make anything in the house rattle but, from time-to-time, it would be good to let the neighbours share in my musical tastes!Seriously though, good value speakers, great supplement to my lap-top, does make the viewing experience far better than similarly priced plastic jobbies but they are not going to shatter any window panes. Despite this, I do think that they are very good value for money and don't regret the purchase but, next time, may invest in some higher wattage for when the wife is out!For normal use, I would have given them five stars but the lack of real volume must mean a mark down to three.

Amazing for the price!
I didn't know what to think what with people saying there was fake reviews on this page but I decided to take the plunge, I sold my old speakers to my girlfriend for £26 and ordered these, they arrived quickly (amazon prime!) and when I got them they did not feel cheap whatsoever, I plugged them in and they sound outstanding for the price, for something to sit on your desk and look stylish they are a steal at £26 with free postage, if anybody was unsure if they were a scam or not I can say safely these are great, cheap speakers (worth £60 on Ricco's site) but the only complaint was the cable was too short connecting the R and L speaker, so I would invest in an extender if you have a wide desk or more than one monitor like me.

GREAT FOR THE KIDS AND PARENTS TOO!!!
Great my son just loves this product. He is a 13 year old boy who just loves singing. We have this wired up to his PC. He plays a song on Youtube and the music comes out of this machine so he can sing along to youtube which has subtitles just like real karaoke. This machine is great. Just be careful the front is beautiful but it's also mirror and unfortunately when we moved house it got banged and it cracked.

Dodgy
For the price, I guess it is OK, but the speakers are crackly after like a month or two. From the start however, the power cable just doesn't fit in the back, its too loose and can just slip out which probably is what makes it crackly, overall very disappointing, but the bass does go pretty loud.

Amazing Value for Money
I bought these as shelf speakers for connection to a Kam USB (or RCA) turntable for my daughter, to listen to my old vinyl in her bedroom without the need to set up through hi-fi amp etc. They work great, provide a decent enough sound for the purpose and provide both volume and basic tone control plus a mic input that we won't use. A decent weight, solid and no rattling or distortion. Cannot believe they were this good for the money so ignore any bad reviews. Anyone looking for amazing hi-fi quality sound should at the very least know you are in the wrong place to start with.
