Being disabled, and not having much money or the ability to stand and cook, I find this a great table top hob to have. The induction pans are a little on the heavy side but this has been a game changer for me. Its cut down on the cooking time and energy used (saves me a fair amount of money). I have 2 of these on my kitchen counter, along with 2 different air ovens and haven't had a proper cooker/oven for around 5+ yrs now. My energy consumption with all of the above mentioned is very low, which is ideal for someone like me on a budget.Easy to use, this has different settings on it from boil to basic steady heat settings so there's plenty ways to cook different foods.I just wish they could make the induction pans a little lighter to handle but that's no reflection on this hob.Easy to clean. Only downside for me is that it is a glass hob, so if you drop something on it, it could crack it (happened to me once so this was a replacement for that one). But if looked after, these do last a long time.Will definitely purchase again as and when I need another one/replacement for the ones I have as I've had other brands but have found this one to be the best and most reliable.

Fast heating

I am currently having to use an old oil-fuelled Aga for cooking in my rental property, which is not only inefficient when all you want to do is boil up some pasta (it all comes on), but it also makes the kitchen furnace hot. I therefore needed something to enable me to do some stovetop cooking, which also didn't break the bank for the (hopefully) short term use for which it is needed.I noted several poor reviews that mentioned the unit automatically switches off, so I initially went away and spent a lot of time looking at alternatives. I don't like unknown brands and, with budget in mind, ended up coming back to this again. I have to say that I am currently glad that I did.I have experienced no problems with switching off, although I am using manual mode exclusively as I juggle different pans on the same hob. I found the timer easy to use and the instant heating is such a lovely thing - you will know what I mean if you have ever had to wait for the plates to heat up to temperature on an Aga. I can now cook a meal in about the same time that I used to using my previous gas range and the antiquated Aga hasn't been switched on for several weeks as I have also expanded my use of the microwave and an air fryer.If you are looking for something to replace use of an inefficient hob, this is a good option. I don't know what the programmes are like because the manual option suits me best and I haven't needed to try them out. But I like the swift heating up of pans and the ease of wiping the hob down afterwards and putting it back into its slimline box afterwards for storage. I am using it every day and don't really know how I ever managed without it.

My electric kettle,hobs and oven and grill are costing me a fortune.We bought this halogen single hob to save on electricity. Our kettle uses the most electricity in our kitchen as my hubby drinks about 20 cups of tea a day.This tefal hob boils 2 litres of water in 2.5mins!! Quicker than a kettle at a fraction of the price. We bought the cheaper version.It looks very nice, easy to use, easy to clean and extremely safe to use around pets and children as the hob itself doesn't get hot.It's the heat from the pots that make it hot..you can put an ice cube next to your boiling pot and it won't melt!!I love it..haven't tried all the settings yet but I will try them all at some point.What I have tried work very well especially the boil water function with our whistle kettle..amazed at the speed.Doesn't take up much room either, so my invest in another one!!

I had a problem that the first one was lost in delivery, this was resolved. :)The product is great. I've used this style of portable induction hob before from a different brand the tefal one is far superior.One word of warning don't use the stirfry mode on maxium it bowed my pan!I will be buying more of these for a holiday cabin.

This hob just doesn’t work. Boiling pasta turns into a mess on any setting! Too hot and it overflows, too low and it barely heats. As reported by another user, it has 7 levels of heat, but on a level 3 it is dangerously and nonsensically hot, spitting water everywhere, boiling over wildly! Drop it to level 2, and the heat cuts in and out so much the water barely simmers.The temperature control is erratic and useless. Either it burns everything or does nothing at all. Avoid it!

I have owned this hob for over 10 years and its proved its durability. Still works like the day I brought it. Used full time during summer months when we switch the gas off, and rely on solar power. Can take any size induction pan, so amazing capacity. Excellent value for money. Not as quiet as built in hobs but the noise is a good indicator of power being used. Registers 0.4 watts on simmer up to 2.6 watts to boil water.
