This is a foam model. Up until now, I'd been working with wooden models but thought I'd give this a try (much cheaper for one thing). The instructions are a bit obscure - there are only pictures and you have to figure it out. Not terrible but definitely not ideal. Also, the foam tears very easily. The finished product looks pretty nice. However, I'll be sticking to wooden models from now on.

Comes in a small flat box, you have to poke out all the pieces and then put it together, not too big and not too small..interesting for kids who like puzzles.
