Q: If I never use the marker on it. Can you use crayons instead of using the marker?

Yes you can use regular crayons or marker on the paper, the marker just only works on the provided paper.

Q: Is there some way to reset the picture (make it blank again)?

No. It's like a coloring book. Once it's colored, that's it. They do make little books called, Water Wow. You fill a little pen with water and color the picture. Once it dries, the picture resets. My grandkids love them. The water in the pens will last long enough to color the whole book.
