solar fountain pump
I very rarely write a review, good or bad. i had to with this item! works way beyond my expectation. easy, breezy to hook up. the first two days the sun was out it worked awesome. we were having 40 wind gusts, so we had some water loss. we switched the nozzle to the streaming one and was perfect. the flow of the water is stronger when the sun is out, but what i didn't expect and why i am reviewing this, is we have no sun for 3 days now and even though the height of the water isn't as strong as when the sun is out its pretty close. looks nice with the color lights at night. best of all if there isn't any water left it shuts down pump is safe. if you been searching for the right solar fountain, this is the one!

Absolutely love these fountains!
The media could not be loaded. I have bought 7 of these fountains... two of the colored light ones and 5 of the clear light ones (I wish they made them with soft white lights to match all of my solar lights... hint, hint!). But really, I can't say enough about them.If you keep in mind they are a $20/$30 fountain and not one you'd hook up to run all day, every day, then your expectations will stay more in line with what they cost. I don't buy them expecting them to run in the shade, the way they do in full sun. After a few years of use (through most of Spring, Summer and well into Fall), a light has gone out on two of them... but other than those two lights that have gone out, they still work like they did when I bought them! I originally tried out all the nozzles for fun (will try to post a video of that for the colored light ones if it will let me later). But, eventually, I settled on no nozzle, as I liked the babbling brook sound (they sound better in person versus what you hear in the video). And using them in that manner (no nozzle) keeps the water IN my bird baths versus spraying out onto the ground. I know they provide the posts that will help keep it away from the edge, so that the water stays in better, but in general, I don't like the looks of it with the posts as I have mine on my deck and tend to look down at them and enjoy seeing them without the posts... and I like seeing the fountain move around a bit. But, if my bird bath was further away, I might be more likely to use the posts and a nozzle with a higher spray so that I could see it better from a far.I do tend to take care of these more than your average person might as I will empty the water in my fountains at least once a week (I like to keep my water fairly clean for the birds) and maybe every couple/few weeks, I clean the fountain itself, off. But, to me, it's worth it to try to help extend the life of the fountains.Even in the shade, the fountains gurgle water up every few seconds to help keep the water moving so that mosquitos won't try to set up shop and it gives bees and such a place to grab a quick drink as well.Again, just keep in mind these are $20/$30 dollar solar fountains (not $100 ones), and give them grace that they won't run full on, unless in full sun but will still keep the water moving every few seconds on an overcast kinda day, and you'll enjoy them. Especially when they come alive at night!!Depending on how much sun they get during the day, I've had them run as long as about 5 hours at sundown to maybe 30 mins on a really blah-weather day. Most of the time, they generally run at least 2 to 3 hours on average days (when you have sun and shade throughout the day).Hope this helps... and I hope you enjoy the video. God bless!

Watch for splash loss of water.
Works easily following simple directions and looks great. But be aware even with the lowest bubbler selected, there is splash that will empty your birdbath within hours. Accompanied by evaporation, I am disappointed in the longevity of the solar fountain being able to function without the addition of water.Am trying a deeper bowl that helps but the same thing ultimately occurs.Lights at night are very nice before water level drops too low to run.Unit does stop on its own when water level drops without any difficulty restarting with the addition of more water. This unit does not seem to come with centering guides allowing unit to float away from the center. It works nicely when the water is high enough.I’m going to keep trying to make this work for now.

Auto low water function
Works great! Got it specifically because of the low water auto shut off function. My shallow bowl runs out of water 2 x a day on an hot sunny day and the auto shutoff works. The light stays shining past 4 hours for me because the location I chose gets 8 hours of direct sunlight.

Best Fountain Ever!
The media could not be loaded. Purchased July 2023. It's April 2025 and it still works great. It's a beautiful, soothing water fountain and the different accessories for different types of spray are great. I was also able to find my own straws to make it stay in the middle of the water bowl. I purchased a glass water bowl, bird fountain, and I use that bowl, it's a little too shallow, but manages to work. I just lay the fountain in the water and push it down so the sensor gets wet and it comes on. At night it will display beautiful disco lights for a really long time, but I don't use it that often at night. To be honest, I've never cleaned it! But I don't use it that often either, maybe twice a month. I take it out of the water when I'm not using it and lay it on the porch table to charge up the solar battery. I don't leave it in the water at night because then I can see the disco lights through my bedroom window all night. Also, the water dries up and is sometimes replenished with rainwater, and with all the pollen and dirt out here, I don't want it running if I am not using it.Every time I put it in the bowl of water it always works. I live in Florida and the porch table gets plenty of sunshine.A few nights ago, I heard some strange noises on the porch, last night it happened again, so I went out and it was this fountain. It came on, even though it was not in the water and therefore made a terrible sound because it was on a glass table. I finally pulled it apart and was able to get it to stop. I see that there's a lot of Pollen in it so that's probably what finally broke the sensor. It's almost 2 years old! Most solar batteries don't even last that long, let alone fountain motors. And both are still working. It's just the water sensor that is on the blink.I'm going to purchase another one.
