This is an expensive product, but well worth it, I feel ... I've been using this on my now-4.5-year-old since he was a baby. Of the various shampoos and body washes marketed for children as "tear-free" (including other natural and organic brands -- which we generally aim for in all facets of our home life), this one truly matches the claim with the reality. I've tested some other children's "tear-free" brands on myself, letting suds get in my eyes, and was disconcerted to find that they still caused stinging in the eyes. Not all other brands, but definitely some. California Baby brand actually IS tear-free -- no stinging.My son is very sensitive to water and soap getting in his eyes, and this has caused some fear and panic around hair washing (he also doesn't like getting water in his ears, so dunking in tub water is not a possibility). While we ended up finding a technique to use when washing his hair that helps prevent water and drips (and that works for him too, helping to alleviate his fear -- we use a damp washcloth squeezed of most water, folded lengthwise in thirds that we place across his forehead to catch water) -- this shampoo and body wash from California Baby gives me extra peace-of-mind.I also love that you can use it for the whole body AND as a gentle bubble bath that doesn't cause skin irritation or potential stinging in the eyes from water splashing in my son's face during bath play. I use it on myself!! The smell is lovely too -- a calendula base with a gentle lavender scent. To me, the cost is definitely worth supporting a product that is better for both the earth and for my son.

I just wanted to relay that this runs out quickly because it dispenses more than you need. I like the 6.5 oz tops because you can regulate how much you want to use, whereas this pump action gives you twice or three times the amount you need. Another problem with the pump action is your kids can waste soap by depressing the pump. I don't like waste and I hate the idea of paying so much for soap I can't use. I also use soap sparingly on my children and I don't scrub hard because I don't want to stress their skin or deplete their natural oils. I use a skin brush to remove excess skin cells and condition their skin. That said, this is the only soap I used on my kids until I ran out recently. I decided to order directly from the manufacturer because I also wanted to buy some of their great sampler kits for gifts to give at a few baby showers coming up. It's free shipping on orders over 75 and because this soap and their products are so great, I chose to order in bulk. All their prices are far lower than I've found elsewhere too. The 6.5 oz lasted me almost a year with my first baby since I was able to use it so sparingly. I would suggest getting the smaller size and refilling it so you can make it last. At the cost for this soap, it's worth it.

This California baby bubble bath is perfect for us! It’s a bubble bath, body wash and shampoo all in one. The scent is soothing and calming and is made with all natural ingredients. It’s great for sensitive skin.

I love that you only need a very small amount to wash hair and body. It smells amazing and is so gentle on my child's skin. I have even used a pump for bubbles in the bath tub and it made so many.So happy I found a clean ingredient and gentle children's shampoo. This small bottle will last us awhile too so I don't mind paying more than a store brand.

Unlike the other shampoos made by the same company this product does not cause scalp itchiness. Hair is left soft and clean. Excellent!!

I previously had used the Unscented California Baby body wash and shampoo duo, but was really interested in trying the Calendula kind this time around because I enjoyed the scent of California Baby's Calendula lotion and enjoyed the proposed healing properties of Calendula.Still, I haven't found this product much better than the unscented version and next time around will probably just stick with the regular, unscented one.If you are concerned about the price, that's understandable but I can tell you that this product will last for months and months (and months!).My primary reason for supporting California Baby is that it is an extremely "clean" product line from a ingredient safety standpoint. According to the EWG SkinDeep database, this bodywash (and the aforementioned "Unscented" bodywash) score a "1", which is the safest product rating you can receive. Unfortunately, when it comes to body care, companies can legally use nearly any ingredients they wish without restriction. Many of these ingredients may provide the desired beauty results, but with a host of undesirable side effects (like being carcinogenic!). The price of this product is worth it to be on the safe and gentle side, though I would personally recommend the Unscented.Enjoy!

This soap not only didn’t make my baby’s sensitive skin react, but it ALSO calmed inflammation caused by other things (heat, product, etc). I’ve used this and the calendula cream after bath and watched raised bumps disappear. I’ve tried so many natural products and this is by far my favorite. Definitely recommend.

My grandson loves this stuff. He’s 5.
