Has anyone used this to harvest figs?
I think the instructions are incorrect. Can't extend unless button "B" is released first, right?

Great Long-Reach Cut-and-Hold Pruner

If you need a long (up to 14.8 feet/4.5 meter) Cut-and-Hold Pruner, this Prunrt can fill the bill.As others have noted, it is a little tricky to use (just remember to extend the "B" section before trying to extend the "A" section). This is because it is a 4 section trimmer -- 2 section trimmers and even 3 section trimmers are much easier to use than a 4 section version, which is really two extensions. However, it is also an engineering marvel:- It remains sufficiently reasonably stiff at full horizontal extension to clip a single branch- It is well balanced, with the cutting end being the lightest part- It is sufficiently light (3.8 lbs without the saw) to use on a ladder and even to use with one hand fully extended when vertical or supported on a branch. And when fully collapsed, it is only 5.4 feet.I have used cut-and-hold trimmers for pruning for several years and absolutely love them.- I use it for pulling Wisteria vines that wind themselves through and over trees and bamboo. The cut-and-hold feature is invaluable, allowing me to drag long sections of the vine out.- I use it for trimming a 25 ft Hemlock hedges -- the cut-and-hold feature allows me to control where the clippings fall so they don't remain in the hedge or end up in my neighbor's yard- On all the pole trimmers/loppers I've used, the cutting end can be relatively heavy -- on the model the cutting end is the lightest part- I love that the cut-and-hold models using a handle instead of a rope-and-pully/lever mechanism. It enables you to use them with one hand, and you don't have to worry about the rope/pully/lever getting tangled up.For short jobs of less than 6 feet, I use a fixed lengths that weigh less than a lb and so can be held with just one hand that was fully extended. For longer situations like my 25ft hedge and tree vines, I have used a 7.6-13 Foot 2 Section trimmer (by Mesoga), because it only weighs 2.8 lbs so I could still use it on a ladder and at times with just one hand. However, I was constantly wishing I had something longer, and so was thrilled to find this Prunrt. With it's longer length I can do more work on on the ground or at lower steps of a ladder. And when I need the full extension, It is still light enough to use with a ladder and to even guide it with one hand at full extension.Notes:1. The product card that came with it (see picture) says that Prunrt makes two models that are even longer than this one -- 5 meter (16 ft) and 5.5 meter (18 ft) that only weighs 4.1 and 4.4 lbs respectively -- less than a half lb more than this model. However, these models are not currently available on Amazon. I would LOVE to have these longer models available! If you also need a longer one, please post a comment or contact the vendor so they will know there is a sufficient market.2. Each time I hire a tree landscaper to reach the higher branches, it costs me several hundred dollars. Having this longer tool (and the above even longer tools) reduces the frequency I need to call them and quickly pays for itself.

Don’t buy

Total junk. Worked poorly from day one and after only a few more times it totally fell apart. To add insult to injury Amazon customer service ripped me off on a refund

Almost sent it back, but then figured out the magic lever "B"

Great extendable clipper, but I almost sent it back. The company’s (original posted) instructions were flat out wrong (they have since adjusted their instructions). Note to company - Please hire an English speaking tech-writer if you want your customers to understand how to use this well made, but confusing product. And please, Amazon packers - you need to securely bubble wrap this item for shipping!Instruction/User Steps that work for me:1) Unlock (release) Handle Lock - before you can release any of the levers ("A","B","C"), or extend any of the sections.2) Middle Lever "B" needs to be released first, and moved slightly out of, and below it’s fully retracted/closed position hole, and needs to remain out of that hole, before you are able to extend or retract section "A". (otherwise, a closed lever "B" locks extension "A").Section "C" seems to act independently of either "A" or "B", but I’m not sure of that.3) Make sure all levers are fully in holes & in locked/closed positions before you begin to prune. Not all holes in section "A" are for positioning - use only the ones where you can fully lock the metal plug to secure the sections.5) To retract, I close "C" first, then again release lever "B" (per instruction 2 above) and retract "A" then lastly, close "B".It’s an engineering wonder that this extension pole works so well. It appears to be well constructed and sturdy (it survived being very poorly packed and dented). I hope it lasts a long time. Too bad the shipping is badly handled and the instructions are confusing. I hope that the manufacturer can address these issues because they do have a great product that I’ve not found offered anywhere else.Note to company, there were 2 drawbacks:1) First problem is that I believe Amazon is packing this product for shipping, and of the two shipments we got - both were horribly done. They should be bubble wrapped to keep this expensive item from shifting in the box (there was no packing material used at all - the item was just left lose and flopping around in the box). The first one we received arrived dented. We were preparing to ship it back to get a replacement, but when the second order arrived, that box had broken open completely, and the protective card had broken off of the end of the clipper - again from flopping around loose in the box.2) Because the instructions were poorly written we thought the minor damage from shipping was keeping the trimmers from working properly or that they were "broken" until we figured out the magic lever "B" solution (your original posted instructions said to open lever "A" first, etc).I bought this to pick citrus fruit from our very tall trees, and trim some very high 1/4" sized vines so that I could avoid using a ladder. I was grateful to find it. It is the only cut and hold pruner style extension pole over 14 feet that I could find. I’ve had it 2 weeks and so far it works great. After figuring out that lever "B" was the "Magic" release trick, we opted to keep both orders and give one to our good friends, because I assume, sadly, that this product will not be be offered for long if you, the "shop" & manufacturer do not address these problematic issues I listed above. I can’t imagine how many lost sales opportunities you can endure if customers ship them back thinking they are broken.

Good but not great

Another company, possibly Fiskars., used to make one of these, a tiny bit shorter and sharp. It lasted me 20 years. After it died I tried another style , hated it, tried to find my original but only found this one. Longer, different manufacturer, not as high quality or as sharp. Sigh.

Great product!!

Intuitively easy to use, contrary to other reviews. The longest, by far, of the three extension pole pruners I own. Sturdy construction. Clever engineering. Served to easily remove top branching on six 18-foot hollies on my property. Did not use accompanying saw blade and do not plan to install. Price reasonable, given alternative use of expensive tree service company. Requires some arm strength to maneuver when fully extended. No U.S.-made comparable product I have been able to find.Major drawback: no apparent source for additional blades for replacement when original gets dull. No source for any replacement parts, if eventually needed. No warranty. Made in China or Japan, but well-engineered and quality manufactured. Be advised to take good care of tool. No recourse.Suggestion: store indoors. Do not expose to elements, as no idea if any components will corrode. Spray WD-40 oil periodically on cutting blade and entire cutting head. Remove dried sap and other debris that collects on cutting blade. Protect a valuable tool.

Good pruner

Nice sharp holding pruner, a bit heavy when fully extended. Saw is sharp but flimsy
