Viking Shaving Soap – yes, you read that right. I’ve reached the stage in life where I’m genuinely excited about soap. How did this happen?!Having recently switched to a safety razor, I’m completely sold on it. I’ve tried shaving foams, but soap has won me over. Sure, it takes a bit longer to lather up, but trust me, it’s worth the extra effort. The Viking soap has a light fragrance nothing too overpowering, which is exactly what you want. The last thing I need is an overly scented soap smothering my face. The scents are subtle and pleasant even my wife has noticed and approved!The lather is excellent (if you’re new to shaving soaps, I’d recommend watching a quick tutorial and taking your time). You’ll get faster with practice, though the initial attempts might be a bit of a faff. But stick with it the results are well worth it.I’ll definitely be buying this soap again. I use the Amazon own brand 5 blade razors and having run out of shaving soap and not managed to source more locally I've been using a leading brand aerosol shaving gel, and getting very poor shaves. There is no comparison, this soap does everything you want.Lots of lather giving a very smooth and close shave. I found that shaving my bald head was theraputic rather than a chore. The fragrances are nice and subtle.I haven't tested this scientifically, but I think the fact that it doesn't clog your razor is likely to mean that the blades last longer; the fact that you're not forever rinsing the blade off makes for a quicker shave.

For the price these shaving soaps are actually pretty decent, however they do take a while to lather up properly, but even with this minor drawback they are worth it in my opinion, they smell pretty good and are pretty discreet and travel friendly, good for holidays and little excursions when you need a decent shave.

I was after some shaving soap to replace one I had finished. I went for these and glad I did as they have a range of pleasant scents which are not too overpowering. It is easy to produce a lather with a shaving brush and I have had no issues applying the lather or shaving using them. I had an existing bamboo bowl and I just pop one in there to use and leave it there. One big benefit is that the soap does not breakdown into a mush and stays firm. My previous shaving soap got very messy in the bowl but these Viking Revolution Shaving Soaps stay firm.

Great shaving soap producing a good thick lather (bowl or face lathering) with high slipperiness. The lather does not dry out too quickly on the face and gives a smooth shave. Skin does not feel dry afterwards. Interesting range of scents and colours in this four pack. Small puck size (2.5oz/71g and 65mm diameter) good for travel.

decent soap, small pucks but quite cheap. i use it for shaving, its fine takes a bit of work to get it lathering. smell quite strong.

Great smell, could do with being a little thicker

The rounds of soap are smaller than I expected but none the less, they fit into the dish I already have.The lather they produce is as good as the branded stuff you get in plastic trays from the shops.By buying these, I don’t need to keep throwing away a plastic trays from every few months.The lather is lubricant enough to get a smooth shave.Have only tried the purple one at the moment, so can’t comment on the other three fragrances, but the purple one does not really have any over-powering fragrance (or any fragrance at all in reality).Using a shaving brush gives adequate lather for a smooth shave.
