Installation wasn't bad at all!
I read all the reviews before purchasing these, and I was fully prepared to need help to get them on (I'm a female in my 50's). I had no problems. I stuck each one under the kitchen faucet to dampen the inside, dampened my hand and applied a little water to my paddle shaft, and then started working them on, making sure that the writing on both grips was facing the same way. I teed the paddle up vertically with the blade on the floor, and then stuck my index fingers under the bottom edge of the grip, pinching it between finger and thumb on both hands and pulling down. I then pushed the top of the stretched grip down towards the bottom of the grip to maintain the grip's original, pre-stretched length. I repeated this a couple of times to get them in the right place on the shaft. I then applied some firm pressure to twist them so that the seam would be adjacent to my fingertips instead of in the middle of my palms. It took no longer than five minutes to do both. An unexpected bonus of the grips: I can tell that my hands are in the right place without looking. How do they feel during use? We have a foot of snow here in Nebraska, so I haven't yet used them, but they feel great on land. I'll let you know after the big thaw.

Nice padding, good grip on them so they don't slide once you've put them on your paddle. Really helped to prevent calluses. My only complaint is that they have the logo screen printed on the outside and it irrates my hand once they get wet. That raised texture of the printed logo drives me nuts. Luckily, after a summer of use the paint has started to rub off.

Opened up the package and looked at the can koozies style grip, instantly threw up a red flag as it said invented in America and Made in CHINA. Started to install first grip on paddle following instructions to a tee and rubber tore right off on the seam instantly. Every one talks about going green, how about we stop making junk!

Product is okay. Very easy to put on when you add a little water. Like them in place of gloves. I agree with some other reviews that they do slip around a bit, but are easily repositioned.

Paddle in comfort - no more blisters!
Every time I kayak, after an hour or so of paddling, I noticed I was beginning to get blisters. I decided to order two sets of these for each of my sets of paddles. They work perfectly. No more blisters and are very comfortable. They also make the paddles easier to grip. I have a Carlisle Magic Mystic Paddle and these seem to work just fine- no slippage at all.

They go onto split paddles really easy when both the paddle and the grips are completely ...
We bought two sets of these here on Amazon via Huron Paddle Sports. As far as the pads go: 5 stars. They go onto split paddles really easy when both the paddle and the grips are completely wet; they just slide right into place. When the water evaporates, they stay put until you intentionally move them (when fine tuning their position). The grips offer a good deal of protection for your hands but they're thin enough so they don't "get in the way" when you're paddling. I would suggest setting the seam so that it's opposite of your fingers and that way you never feel the seam. After about 6 trips to the lake we had one grip's seam start to come unsewn and it unraveled about half way down the tube. Not sure how Huron Paddle Sports is connected w/ ShooterPads LLC, but I want to say that they have outstanding customer service; they replaced the defective tube within a day or so. The other three tubes show virtually no sign of wear, so I'm sure this was just a manufacturing anomaly. You should definitely try them; we're glad we did.

They perform great. Makes paddling easier on the hands
I have used these for several years on all our kayak paddles. They perform great. Makes paddling easier on the hands. The grips do shift some over time while paddling, but they easily slide back in place. Hint: wet them and your paddle before sliding on!
