Tests quite well in car use, looks promising for flights
We haven't yet had a chance to try the JetComfy on a plane or train but will update the review in a month or so if our views change. We tested it in a car and three different people found it useful as an adjunct to seat-leaning and other normal relaxation modes. Of course, in a car it is at its weakest, because it cannot really be strapped to an arm, nor are there many nice clean right-angle platforms to lean it against. And most of all, a car is subject to more significant and far more frequent accelerations than any plane or train would be.In spite of that, we found it (a) very comfortable - a very nice feel to it and (b) better than not having one. The best mode was when we got the strap out of the way so the rubber grip had the best purchase against the door sill or whatever was available. Given it needed to be somewhat held in place, we couldn't go to sleep and expect it to stay put. But even as a prop it provided a decent benefit to relaxing on a long journey. The compressible supports helped make it more stable and comfortable. All in all, our car use was a good proof of concept and, having done our research on how fasten it firmly on an airplane seat arm, we're keen to try it out on our upcoming long-haul flights. It definitely looks like it should justify the extra bulk and weight it adds to our cabin luggage.

Just too short.
Used it on my first overnight flight. Support leg is too short and headrest angle does not adjust enough for a comfortable head position. Would be nice if adjusted angle could be locked in place. I'm 5"8' Will not advise to buy. Sorry

Great idea but...
Really great idea, however there were a couple flaws. First, it takes up a big portion of my carry on compared to its competitors. I'd be willing to overlook that if the poles extended a little further. I'm 5'10" and tried it both on an aisle seat and window seat of a long flight. There is no way to sit where you won't get a sore neck. Also the strap that attaches this to the arm rest does not stay secure, no matter how hard you pull on it.

Okay for long trips
Pros: It does help you rest seated on the plane. It was worth carrying around for an all-night, overseas flight.Cons:1. It's bulky to carry around. The base is larger than it needs to be. Also I wish the padding wrapped all the way around the base rather than the plastic. Supposedly you can put batteries inside and charge electronics, but I never figured out how to make that work.2. It sometimes slips off the arm of the seat. The strap on attachment isn't the best. Also, it won't work in a carseat where the arms are attached to the side of the car. A clamp might work better.

Slept comfortably at last!!
We purchased 3 JotComfy travel pillows. Before the trip, we practiced in order to get familiar with the mechanism. On the day of the trip, I thought I had secured my pillow to my suitcase handle, but somehow, it fell off at the airport. Luckily, one of my travel companions was walking behind me and noticed, so I didn't lose my pillow thanks to him!! I decided to carry it in my bag after that.Once in the air, it was easy to secure the pillow to the armrest. How amazing to be able to rest my head!! The comfort of the pillow on my cheek was better than I had anticipated. I can never sleep in a sitting position, so I only expected to be comfortable, but I actually managed to sleep for a couple of hours! :-) I was so pleased!!We kept our pillows latched to the armrest during the entire flight, even when not in use. It was very easy to adjust the pillow, especially when getting in and out of the seat. What a great product!! I'm so glad I found it! Needless to say that we plan on bringing our pillows on future trips, including Europe in late August. Can't wait to try it on the trains we'll be riding, as well!!

This seems awesome
I don't normally review...I just don't normally feel the need. And I haven't actually used this item yet...I just got it today. But i can tell Im going to love this.I accepted long ago I would never be comfortable on a flight unless i flew first class (ha!!) Regular travel pillows SUCK. They literally do nothing but take space. Then I saw this thing.. and my hope has been restored. It has some moving parts... you gotta attach it to an arm rest. I thought it looked "a little too much" - like i was doing what I always do...going overboard with extra cost/effort and not enough return on investment. But..now that I've touched this thing...I want to hop a flight right now!!. It's super comfortable. It really supports your head. The moving parts seem high quality. I haven't attached it yet to an arm rest yet but i suspect this would even be comfortable just holding it in your lap with your hands! My current inability to fully test is the only reason its getting 4 stars right now. If it attaches perfectly to arm rail.. this thing totally deserves 5 stars!! I will try to remember to updateI'm ordering another for whoever is my travelling companion is on any given journey

I tried just wedging the arm of this pillow into the seat-- it worked GREAT! I wedged the arm into the sleep so ...
I just used this on a 8 hour overseas flight. It is an ingenious design-- the arm pulls out of the pillow and telescopes out for an adjustable length. It is simple to attach to the arm rest.So I was excited to try this... until my 2 young kids lifted up all the arm rests and sprawled all over me and our 3 seats so they could sleep.Desperate to to sleep myself, I tried just wedging the arm of this pillow into the seat-- it worked GREAT! I wedged the arm into the sleep so I could rest sideways, wedged it into the seat between my legs so I could rest leaning forward... my weight kept the pillow stable and I completely knocked out in multiple positions without ever attaching this to an arm rest. Could only do this if you were sitting next to people you know... but it worked! As others said only con is it is a bit bulky.. but I don't see a way around the size it is as small as it can be without losing function. Possibly they could create a blow up pillow portion to reduce size.
