Great product but packaging.....
The product itself is great and leaves the hair thicker and smelling fresh as out of the woods! The instructions say "Use the Alpecin After Shampoo Liquid dosage tip to apply directly on the scalp", do not dispense on your palm. The big issue with this was of dispensing is that the nozzle tip is quite big and a lot of liquid splashes out and starts dripping on neck, cheeks, eyes.I have transferred the contents to another bottle that has a narrower nozzle to control the flow. Wonder why Alpecin is not doing the same?

A bit of humor and some good advice, if you don’t mind reading the full review.
The following rating is based solely on scent and feel. The feeling on my scalp is rather invigorating, but I’ll update this review later to tell everyone wether the product works for me or not.About the scent... Yes, it does smell like Axe deodorant and a well groomed camel had an illegitimate lovechild. Late teens and early 20 something bros at those big box gyms will love this stuff... yes, you guys know who you are. If you like the smell of Axe, bull pheromones, and elk antlers, buy this stuff right now and you won’t be disappointed. Each time I put it on my hair, I feel like I want to find an axe (coincidence?) and chop some wood.Humor aside, it isn’t overbearing like Axe or Drakkar Noir (remember that stuff? Ugh). It smells strong for maybe an hour or two and after that only people in your immediate personal space will smell it. I mean inches from your head. Now if you don’t like masculine scents or you want something unisex, there’s always OGX Fight Fallout Caffeine shampoo and Root Stimulator. I’ve used it for a while and the stuff is relatively affordable, but I’ve noticed the shampoo serms to “prepare” the scalp while the Root Stimulator spray does most of the work. That and there are many other shampoos out there with different scents. One thing about the Alpicin tonic is that you do not want it in your mouth or anywhere near your eyes because even the slightest bit a half inch from either will burn like hell. Also be aware that it will cool the hell out of your scalp... like fresh Alpine mountain air.OK, back to the info: Based on past experiences and some mild research, I advise using any hair loss product for a period of at least 3 months up to a full growth cycle before judging wether it works or doesn’t work. Then slowly stop using it to see if the results are permanent. Be aware that time between growth cycles can be rather long (from months up to a year if I recall correctly) and you should make sure you aren’t vitamin deficient, you’re eating in a somewhat healthy manner, and are drinking enough water. The only problem with this approach is that hair regrowth companies make tons of money based on the “what ifs”, “maybes”, and the time between hair growth cycles. Also be aware of and research the causes of hair loss; many are purely genetic while others are related to environmental, physical, and psychological stress (or genetics and types of stress combined). Sometimes hair will begin to grow back a cycle or two after stress has been minimized and sometimes it never grows back. I have reason to believe hair loss products that actually work will perform at their best with the types of hair loss that regrow a growth cycle or two after symptoms are alleviated. I say this because I’ve had hair fall out (appearing as male pattern baldness) only to have half of it grow back a 6 months to a year later. If a shampoo and / or hair tonic can raise the chances of more growing back or slow the process of hair falling out, it’s doing it’s job. Now putting scientific method to this is another story entirely, as it would require enormous amounts of money and time. With that said, is spending $10 to $15 on a bottle of shampoo that makes you feel good after using it going to kill you? No. Is it worth it if it relaxes you? Probably. Give it a try. Especially considering most of it is money you probably would have spent anyways on other shampoos that don’t claim to do anything at all. The best advice I can give is to go with the product that yields results over time or just do what feels “right” for you. With most of the caffeine products, you’ll have to keep the caffeine in the hair all day. That means using a shampoo and the spray or tonic. Don’t expect to see much from the shampoo alone. As for those $150 mushroom shampoo kits and $50 a bottle lab shampoos, I won’t even try something that expensive... at that point I’ll save up and get the FUE hair restoration surgery (which is expensive, but it works for most people and is permanent). One reason I won’t use the mushroom pill shampoo kit is because it stinks of a scam. They sometimes offer it on the website for $60, only to jump the price up to about $150 if you wait a little while. I don’t mind spending that much over 6-12 months, but every month? No way, it’s just not for me. Now if you enjoy buying overpriced, unproven hair regrowth products like the two I spoke of a second ago, I have a bridge to sell you!

Add body and strength to the hair
I use the liquid after the caffeine shampoo. To my pleasant surprise, it adds a good deal of body and strength to the hair. As a result, my thinning hair looks like having more volume. I probably used too much the first time. So I adjust the dosage to gain better handling. The result is by far better than other leave-in conditioners I had used.My only complaint is the dispensing tip. It is hard to control the flow. Quite often the liquid comes out (i.e. leak) at the bottom of the tip. I hope that it will be improved.

Just be sure to know that it pours out like Niagara Falls .
It says Used dosage tip apply tonic directly to scout and massaged it. It says nothing about it will gush out like a fire hose..

This stuff works!
It's very thin so I recommend using some type of stuff make-up brush to apply it. The price is very reasonable and within a few weeks I could see baby hairs coming out. Highly recommend.

Please be careful with this...
Although I absolutely love the shampoo, which does wonders for thickening my hair, my scalp cannot tolerate the scalp tonic. The moment I apply it, my scalp burns terribly. It seems the culprit is the ingredient menthol. Regardless, I do recommend the shampoo very highly. For those with a more sensitive scalp, you may wish to reconsider using the tonic.
