BEAUTIFUL....I had the type of jewelry case that was a little taller than this and had a mirrored door that opened. On the back of the door it had hooks for necklaces and earrings and a bar for bracelets. The other side had ring slots and little tiny area for other things but it was too small for much. This left a lot of empty space. I hated it. So I was looking for an armoire that had drawers that were bigger and this one fit my decor. The sides open for hanging necklaces and the top opens with a mirror so you can see your earrings. This lid will stay open by itself.The drawers are very nice and slide easily. The wood looks very nice. It was delivered without the top and legs attached. It was a little hard to attach the legs so I got a friend to do it:)) There is a strap to attach the back of the armoire to the wall. I have not needed to use it. It does not seem top heavy to me, even with the lip open.I really love the amount of space I have now. The first two drawers have been sectioned off but the rest have not. You can use your own boxes to section it however you want.
