You get what you pay for.
This hair, being at such a low cost point, definitely has it's pros and cons. I'll attach images to illustrate my points. One pro being the color assortment available... very well equipped to get creative with your hair. Another pro is that it does in fact stand up to heat. Cons being the texture and amount of stretching.... please read on.This hair is very textured. One reviewer stated that it's very silky... it's not actually silky. It is textured with an added chemical coating to make it feel more silky. I didn't realize there was a coating until I had already done two braids and it made my hands itch. I had to take those two braids out, soak the hair in vinegar water, then shampoo it to finally remove the coating. If you do have sensitive skin, or plan to use it on a child, I recommend washing the hair as soon as you take it out of the package... don't un-braid it or anything just go straight to the sink. I hung mine on a hanger in the shower to drip dry overnight. You should also note that there was a bit of color bleed in the sink after removing the hair from the water.Another thing to note, is this hair is already stretched and/or feathered. For those of you who don't know what that means, in order to help taper out the blunt ends of synthetic hair, many people pull gently at both ends to ofset the tips a bit.Typically for me, I would only stretch my hair about two inches. This hair is pre-stretched.... much too far in my opinion. The frayed ends of the hair extend at least 1/3 of the way up the hair (about 8 inches). This makes it so that you have to use wax and braid very carefully to avoid having braids that look like porcupine tails.... see my comparison image between this hair and hair from doctored locks in blue.Even with braids done using natural hair only, you will experience some itchiness... simply because the hair ends poke out and can irritate. That said, these braids are extra extra itchy.... that being due to the fact that the hair is stretched or frayed so far up the bundle.Overall, I'm not displeased... I had pretty low expectations for this hair at the low price point. I was pleasantly surprised by the heat resistance, and I really like the color combos. Not sure I would buy again just because the itchiness on my back is too much for me.Edit: I have very straight caucasian hair, and have worn my natural hair in braids for weeks at a time, but this was my first time doing synthetic hair braids. That said, I finished them all and could only stand to wear these for three days before I was fed up with the itching and took them out.

Very good
Beautiful color! Excellent hot water seal. Strong fibers. Fast, tangle-free workability. The black-blue-grey goes well with many outfits because it coordinates so well with denim jeans and navy trousers. So if you were jeans, you can basically wear any colors and still look coordinated. It’s not pre-stretched so you’ll need to factor in prep time before you actually braid. Two days before you braid, shampoo and condition the packs and leave to dry overnight. Might take longer than 8 hours to fully dry. Then stretch and separate the hair the next day. If you’ve never had unstretched hair, there’s plenty of YouTube content to help you do it right.I did small quarter-inch wide braids and they stayed fresh looking for 6 weeks. This hair maintained a fresh appearance the whole time. If I didn’t have so much new growth, I could’ve left them at least 3-4 weeks more. But my hair grows fast and I get dirty doing renovations/construction/demolition. So I have to take down my braids sooner than most. If I worked indoors in an office, I think this hair would definitely last 8+ weeks looking frizz-free and fresh the whole time.Compared to the single jumbo pack you can get at the beauty supply store, this hair was much more manageable because it doesn’t tangle the way other unstretched packs do. It braided up fast even in smaller size braids because it didn’t tangle or matte or get static charge. If you’ve had the jumbo from Sally Beauty store, you know what I mean about static and matting after shampoo prep.It definitely takes longer to dry than other brands. After shampooing my braids, it took 8 hours to fully dry on my head. I was so surprised it didn’t kink up or bend the one time I slept with slightly damp braids under my satin head wrap. Other brands I’ve purchased kink up just from the heat of sleeping in a heat wrap. The next day they look bent and need to be re-aligned with steam. I never had that problem with these braids.I’ll definitely buy again when I run out. The color was great and the quality was very good.

Beautiful colours, undesirable texture
Purchased this product (light purple, light blue, light pink ombré) and mixed with another one (darker pink and purple ombré) from a different vendor for a hairstyle to wear to a music festival. Let me start by saying that this hair is NOT PRE-STRETCHED although that’s the criteria I searched for and this came back in the search result. It was an oversight on my end because the description doesn’t say it. I just thought all the results would at least be pre-stretched hair. The style I originally wanted had to be changed because the texture of this pack wouldn’t allow it. The hair tangles a lot and the person who did my hair is a professional hair braider and still had a hard time although the style I had was fairly simple. 4 big cornrow braids.Upside of getting hair on Amazon (online), cheaper/more affordable pricing.Downside, you don’t know what you’re getting until it’s shipped and delivered - lower/deceiving quality. Looks better in pictures than what you actually get. (Even though I had a really good experience once in 2019.)I’m glad I didn’t buy this for a style that I wanted to keep in longer because I would’ve been really upset. I wish I had more time, I definitely would’ve returned if I had time to go buy new ones. I only used one bundle out of the 3 that came in a pack and the other 2 will just be wasted.

Gorgeous! Pop of pink and lilac hues
Beautiful pop of color! Did not fade. I did not wet my braids so I don't know if this hair would bleed for me like it did in the other reviews I did not apple cider vinegar rinse the hair as I usually do because I was afraid it was going to bleed I kept this style in for about 2 weeks and then took it all down because I wasn't a fan of it but they didn't have to do with that color. The braiding hair itself was very kinky and would slip often summer braider had trouble using it but she loved the color.

A tangled mess
Pros - Looks really cool once installed, not very frizzy, keeps its hold, long-lasting styles, able to handle showers and baths and every day wear and tear that a hyper 8yo puts it throughCons- easily tangled, very slippery so it's hard to wrap around hair tight enough, sheds - a LOTThis was my first shot at putting box braids in my daughter's hair, so I realize that my inexperience probably has a lot to do with the difficulties I faced. Either way, I'm not discouraged, but I'm probably going to get the pre-braided, pre-looped hair next time. I'm sure someone who actually knows what they're doing (and not a frazzled mom watching hours of YouTube tutorials) would have done a much better job. But hey, everyone starts somewhere, right?Pardon the look on this kid's face - she hates when I take random photos lol
