Fancy Halogen Torchiere Floor Lamp 70" Tall-Black

I'm so sick of trying to find lighting that indirectly lights up a room without having it shining in your eyes and has a nice "daylight" feel. I did switch the bulb to a 300 watt, but when I put it in my son's room he walked in and said, "it looks like daylight!" unprompted by me. I am so happy to find these light again. Since the light has a dimmer if you don't want it as bright you can dim it.

During assembly, I noted that two of the wires were partially cut during shipment from rubbing against the sharp, threaded edge of a vertical post section. I had to reinforce the wires with electrical tape. Also, the 200W bulb for the lamp, previously inserted before shipping, arrived broken at a ceramic contact point. It was exposed and damaged during shipment, but should have been securely packaged separately. I didn't notice this problem until I assembled the lamp, turned it on and it started sparking at the broken point. Consequently, this required my installing a new bulb. I used a 300W instead, which is effective for my purpose of lighting a bedroom. Nevertheless, after all of this, the lamp is adequate.

The first lamp could not be properly assembled, as the two base poles wouldn't thread together. Doubtless a manufacturing flaw. The retailer, Four Bros., processed the return and immediately sent out a replacement. Halogen floor lamps provide exceptional indirect lighting, particularly in office areas.

I love these lamps, however they always stop working and are really difficult to put together accurately since the parts that screw together are always threaded in a way that messed up every time. I love the fact that these dim down. I have bought 4 of these lamps and 3 have broke and 1 I still use. So if you take your time and put together very carefully then it will look nice but don’t be surprised if it just stops working or flickers and then stops working. I still have not found replacement parts for the lamps which would have helped.

I bought two of these. One was mismade. Assembly was impossible. It was replaced by the vendor. I was also surprised to see the bulbs were already installed in the lamp housings. That is rare for halogen bulbs, as they have to be handled very carefully. After I assembled the other one and turned it on, it seemed a little dim. The next day, when I turned it on, it blew immediately. When I examined the bulb, there was an imprint of a fingerprint on it. It is mandatory these bulbs not be touched by bare skin, as oil from the fingers ruins the bulb. I haven't used the second one yet but I'm not anticipating the bulb will last long.

Not the highest quality lamp, but if you put it together according to the diagram (which I did), it's sturdy and looks nice. Lights up the room as expected. Changed to bulb to a 300W bulb. Great light!. Overall a nice lamp for the price!

It doesn't get as bright as a regular room light.

This is my second lamp, the first one lasted me some twenty years.
