Bought these to strap small "round" bags on to motorcycle luggage and they mostly work OK on 8" to 10" round bags. Due to a relatively small "hook" area there's not enough material to grab a 6-7" round bag so I'll have to get a shorter strap (maybe 18") for a little smaller bag. As long as you're careful about the sizing, they should be a OK cheap strap system. If your load sizing can vary quite a bit an adjustable sliding buckle would be a better choice albeit more expensive.

works well, holds securely, hasnt failed yet. useful for securing a bedroll or other larger / miscellaneous items to a pack. also good for bundling sleeping bags, blankets, extension cords, garden hoses, or pretty much anything. can be doubled up and used as an improvised belt, or a backup strap for an led headlamp, just mind the scratchy material & wear it on top of a hat or something.
