Q: Is 3a required? I see some PD devices which will provide 12v at 1.5 or 2a -- will this cable accept such arrangements?

We set our official minimum input current rating at 3a to ensure that the cable will meet our stated maximum output rating However you can successfully use these cables with a lower input current, providing(!) that the supplied input power to the PP meets (or exceeds) the power requirements of your setup. Some basic calculation is required. (in this simplified scenario) Max Output power = 12v *max output current of your power supply @12v For example, If you had a power bank with a PD rating that says 12v,2a max, then your max power would be 24watts (24w= 12v*2a) You then need to check this exceeds the power requirement of your device, the device product manual or label should make the input requirement clear.

Q: You should be ashamed for going from $29.00 to $40.00!!!? I've found better quality product that does exactly the same thing for half the price.

Ashamed is a powerful word. We spend a lot of time, love and energy designing and testing our products to ensure they are the safest and most secure products they can be for our customers. The price is currently $29. We run monthly deals on all our products. Our manufacturing RRP is $40, which must be what you are referring to. You are more than welcome to use a competing product, but you can be 80% sure they will have not been tested, and I doubt they have regulation certification.

Q: Why is this so expensive??

Our products are rigorously tested and certified to make sure they meet the demands of our customers. Our customers use this cable to power devices that range in cost from $50 all the way to $5,000 and up. Sending the wrong voltage to a device can cause irreversible damage. If you find cheaper alternatives it's your choice which one you buy, I just hope you have insurance!

Q: Can I use this to power an external monitor that requires constant 12v at 2A?

I use it with my Ninja V and and a Hyperjuice 27000mAh. When I tried it with the Anker Power Core+ 20100, it didn't work, apparently the Ninja needs 12v minimum.
