HEPA Air Direct Aftermarket IQAIR Antimicrobial Three Filter Pack

Very well-built filters for that fit IQAir brand machines. They seem to work every bit as well as the OEM and look to be constructed even better than the originals. This is now our go to filter replacement.

As other reviewers have stated, these are better-constructed than the originals and seem to work work as well or better. I see no reason to pay more for the brand-name.

I must admit, if you've spent any time looking at reviews of air purifiers and filters you've probably discovered there's A LOT of misinformation out there. There's also a TON of snake oil products and even legitimate products are often vastly marked up to the point you feel you're getting bamboozled. I knew that getting into the IQAir brand would come with the "prestige" of paying a ton of money on highly marked up filters. They are basically the Rolex of air purifiers after all. However, it just seemed wrong spending so much on filters so I figured I'd give an aftermarket brand a chance.I did a ton of research and came across Hepa Air Direct. Unlike many other aftermarket options, this company has a legitimate shop and a reputation when it comes to making quality filters of all types. I really couldn't find anything negative. Seriously... go try for yourself and see what you can come up with.This brings me to these filters. It felt wrong paying so much for IQAir filters and while these filters are still insanely expensive for what they are, the price is at least a bit more fair. Here's the thing about these aftermarket filters: if you compare them to OEM filters there is absolutely no doubt they are every bit as good as OEM. Here's the kicker though: I would argue these are actually BETTER. Why? A few reasons which can be easily seen for yourself:1. Metal frames while OEM is cardboard.2. Weather strips are installed to prevent minor air leakage. In reality this likely provides negligible benefits at best but why not take advantage of this? If these filters were more expensive that would be one thing but they are significantly cheaper.3. Additional small filter attached to pre-filter to keep out big contaminants and increase the overall lifespan of the other filters in the process.4. Antimicrobial optionOverall, I'm impressed. I honestly don't see any reason to go OEM again. With that said, you can bet I'll try a cheaper option if I can find a brand with similar performance (which doesn't exist right now). There are cheaper filters out there but they are actually very poor quality Chinese filters.
