I love this book! There are so many really neat and functional pieces in here. We made the bar stools and changed a few things on them. We needed them taller - no problem, just get longer pipes! We used all 2 x 4's, placing the foot rests flat so that they were wider. Also, we secured the seats with u-clamps because we had trouble drilling holes through the 2" side - it might be easier with a drill press, but we don't own one. They came out great and we have had so many compliments on them! Onto our next project!

You can have nice things, if you make them yourself. - ben uyedaThis is beyond a book of furniture designs. Ben's trickle-up design theory is pushing a sustainability paradigm shift to self build.Although not explained in detail within this book I highly recommend ben's youtube channel, interviews, and especially his latest talk at Google for more information.

Simple easy project. Some are almost so easy it's boring. They do overlook some key details in each design. It's obviously sponsored by Home Depot. Easy read. Easy projects. Some are great designs and others are ok at best. I like it though. Gives you a great base idea you can expand on.

This is a great book with tons of amazing designs and ideas. It got me hooked on trying new things in my new home and I have little to no skills prior to checking this out. I found the author on Instagram and YouTube and if you aren't already following him you should! He has amazing easy and fun designs for all types of things that are applicable to just about anyone.

Sadly, about the only project in this book that would yield something I would have in my house is the main one on the front, and then only with an upgrade in wood and joinery. I blame myself to some extent for not studying the description more fully. Had I done so, I might have guessed at what was inside (hence the three stars rather than one). The projects in the book are, frankly, junky. The pieces that are meant for human contact would be unbearably uncomfortable. I could see this stuff in a college student party house or in some post-apocalyptic scenario, but nowhere else. That having been said, the layout of the book is nice and the projects are probably accessible to anyone with even the slightest mechanical ability.

This is my favorite DIY book. Ben's project designs are fairly easy to make with a few tools, and they will look awesome in my house! There is a great variety of furniture and decor pieces. Love how the book is laid out. Photos and instructions are easy to follow. The book, in and of itself, is really cool. Everyone who sees it picks it up and finds projects they want to make. Buying more as gifts.

Projects are simple and easy. The finished look is awesome. Using tints and dyes of a different color for the plywood layers and different enamel spray paints for the metal, a unique look is created for any decor. Way too cool.

That Book is amazing. Has many projects, all very well detailed and explained!I'll use it to inspire me for a project that I'm starting in witch I'll teach woodworking (after I learn it well) for furniture using recicled materials! And that book has a lot of ideas that I think would be great using that kind of material!

Assim como o o material encontrado no canal no Youtube e o website do Homemade Modern, o autor Ben Uyeda apresentou neste livro conteúdo interessante e relativamente fácil de ser colocado em prática por quem tem pouca experiência e quer começar a se aventurar por esse universo do Do It Yourself. Continuo encantada com esse projeto que está crescendo e recomendo a leitura.

Always enjoyed the YouTube channel of the same name, and has been worth the purchase to have ideas and how to’s easily accessible. I may not want to do all of the projects shown, but each one is broken down so well into supples needed, things to consider, alternatives etc, plus a good description, it helps with confidence to think creatively and give things a go.
