If you want some cheap knives...
I bought this knife set to use in a vacation cabin where nobody does any serious cooking. The set replaced a hodgepodge of mismatched "yard sale knives" that were old, ugly, damaged, and largely useless, so it didn't take much for this item to be an improvement. As I expected, these knives are obviously cheap, with molded plastic handles and light-weight blades. But they're perfectly functional and usable; they just aren't beautiful, finely-balanced examples of first-rate cutlery. There's one oddity to the assortment of knives provided: With most knife sets you might expect a serrated bread knife to be included, but there's none here. Instead there's an unusual, narrow-bladed knife with a forked tip. This is presumably the "slicer" mentioned in the product description, the forked end being useful for picking up slices of meat, tomato, etc..So nothing special, but the price is friendly.

Are these really Ginsu??
I'm not a brand name freak, but it would've been nice to see the Ginsu name branded on these somewhere. It wasn't on the packaging nor printed anywhere on the knives themselves. It didn't even come with like a Ginsu warranty. Makes me question if they're really Ginsu knives.Otherwise, they're really beautiful knives. Very sharp and a vibrant purple just how it looks in the pics.

Could be sharper
I love purple so these are the cutest in my kitchen. But to be honest, they aren’t that sharp. Dulls quickly.

Very sharp
I had a set of the ginsu serrated steak knives for almost 20 years, lost a few during a move and the handles broke off the few I had left, expected after so long. Althought not serrated, these appear to be just as sharp and durable. I have already put a few through the dishwasher, and I didn't notice any rust, but time will tell. So far very happy with my purchase.

Fit for a first apartment/dorm...not a culinary expert
If you're sending your college kid out into a new apartment for the first time, this ser would be fine. This is NOT a set you give to your MIL as a housewsrming gift. The knives work fine and the block is lightweight....So are the knives. They needed sharpening more frequently than higher quality knives and are a bit flimsy, so the "steak knives" aren't actually suited for steak.

Meh!
These knives are OK. Nothing really special. The storage for the knives looks and feels pretty cheap. I think I could make one better than what came with the knives. When you wash the knives, there are a lot of water spots even when I dried them with a towel. Don't like the look after you wash them. They do cut OK, but I think there are better knives out there.**I did get these knives as part as a promotion for my honest opinion.

perfect!
I bought these a few weeks ago and they are the perfect size. They are like a little start up knife set. It is perfect for my fiance and I since we job bought our first house. They are very sturdy and sharp. They look just like the picture provided. I am very pleased and would order from here again.

I really like the knives
I really like the knives. They cut very well. For the price point I wasnt sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. The holder isn't great quality, but that wasn't a big deal for me as I don't store my knives on the counter.
