I absolutely LOVE this product! After 15+ yrs of chemical coloring I developed an allegery. I was devastated thinking I was going to have to let my gray shine bright at 40! After a lot of reading on the issue and finding this product Amazon my😀 is back!! Yes it is kinda messy but so is the other stuff. Yes it smells, odd. The other stuff always smelled so strong I felt like I could not breathe at times. Yes it does wash away gradually over time, that's the point. Make sure you are not over washing your hair. No it will not lighten your color. Means black hair is not going to pop red. No, you won't want many other plans on 'color day'! Lol. Saved my sanity and my vanity!!!
