Herbatint Permanent Herbal Haircolor Gel, 5N Light Chestnut, 4.56 Ounce

I always feel nervous when I try a new brand of hair color, so I did my research thoroughly. I am so thankful I read the reviews about how dark this haircolor goes onto your hair. I do not have a lot of gray hair, so I usually just do a root touch up. I just cannot see how paying a stylist $90 to do a root touch up is worth it so I’ve been doing it myself for the last year or so. I normally use a medium to dark brown color. After reading the reviews on this product, I went with the light chestnut color. I only had to use 1/3 of both bottles to have enough color to do my roots and to blend it in with the rest of my hair. Be aware that there is no plastic container or applicator to stir the color or to apply to the hair. I used a plastic fork and a plastic bowl and it worked just fine. Directions tell you to leave it in for 40 minutes if you have no color on your hair, or 30 minutes if you have color on your hair. I chose to leave it in for 35 minutes which turned out to be great! I caution you to know that when you rinse out the haircolor, the water is a greenish color. Do not let that freak you out!I am so very happy with the color of this product. It is darker than what you would think a light chestnut color would be. It has a nice shine to it. The color is perfect for my hair and I will definitely buy it again!

My update several months later is that the color didn't fade fast and didn't turn red which some of the other natural color products do. It also didn't dry out my hair as other products do. It is definitely a dark brown at first and now months later is medium. I'm happy with it and will but it again soon along with an application bottle. Hope it doesn't smell fishy again and I won't lose much hair like last time.It works good and the color was darker but accurate to what's on the box but it smelled fishy. Also there's no application bottle, just two small bottles of the chemicals, gloves and royal cream packet. The royal cream is to be applied on your forehead and neck to avoid stains but isn't really necessary. The instructions later said to use it after you shampoo so I guess it's also like a conditioner. I wish they included an application bottle put instead they want you to buy their kit which I wasn't happy about. I ended up mixing it in a plastic bowl and luckily had an application brush laying around. I did lose a lot of hair in the shower when I rinsed it off. I'll update once I see how it lasts and if it turns reddish.

I bought the 5N and 6N and mixed the 2, as other reviewers stated the 5N was too dark. This was perfect for my md-long dark brown hair. I bought this product bc the medication I’m on I can’t use any products with alcohol in it. This was the only hair dye that stated alcohol free. I did not have any bad reactions and I’m liking the color combo. there is literally no smell to this product. Made in Italy.. seems like better quality and more geared towards using safer ingredients. I just restocked for future use. Buy it!

I have dark brown (not quite black hair) and was tempted to order a darker tint of Herbatint, but based on others' reviews, I went with 5N Light Chestnut, and it was perfect. I even kept some of my natural summer highlight hues in the auburn family. It was easy to apply. I have medium length hair and used about 2/3 of the product and will try just touching up my roots with the remaining product soon. It covered gray and lasted approximately 5 weeks before I began noticing a few grays again. However, I probably will hold off to color until 6-8 weeks. I liked the "more natural" ingredients as opposed to some competitors on the market. (I realize there are still a few "iffy" ingredients, but it's steps in the right direction.)

This is a nice rich med brown color. My hair stylist complimented my hair color. She thought I had my hair dyed at a beauty salon. My hair is shinny and full of bounce. I dad tried brown before and it was to dark.

I really like that this product is divided for multiple applications. Covers gray on my head but not around my face & side burns. Disappointed. I'm going to order in a darker shade to see if covers up the grays. I hope sure so. I'll post an update with results.

I’ve using this product since 4 years ago and I’m very pleased. My hair looks very natural and cover my gray hair! The most I like is that is much more natural than other brands.

Great herbal alternative to box store brands. It has a gel like consistency that is easy to apply. The process takes about 40 minutes depending on your needs. If you have short hair, or are only doing roots you can get more than one use out of one bottle making it a good value. The color is as pictured.

my mom and my grandmom are using this product for more than 5 years, before knowing about this product they used to use chemical products which were very harmful to their hair structure.

Good hair dye

I helped my mom to dye her hair. She has very very sensitive skin, not allergic to this, but a little red on her neck. The color was good.

My favourite hair colour. I have dark brown hair and buy the dark blonde and it looks far more natural than the chemical based tints
