Initially, I liked this product for the price, but I experienced a bay failure after just over two years. Enclosure started emitting a loud beeping sound which I thought was because the fan bearings on the included cooling fan were starting to go out, but after replacing the fan (which is not super easy because it's a low profile Chinese model that has since been discontinued. I found a comparable replacement but had to remove the proprietary fan connector from the old fan and re-solder it to the new fan) the beeping continued then bay 5 failed to spin up its drive. After hours of debugging and hardware swapping, I determined the drives were all good, but the enclosure has failed on bay 5.

This is good if you need easy access to your drives, The instructions with it are a little hazy. I almost sent it back because I could not get the drives to spin up, but once I found the 5 little hidden buttons on the top edge of the unit the drive came right up. The one BIG down side is that most cases have little metal edges that the drive sit on, and this does not take that into account and so you either have to bend them down or cut them out. It took a little elbow grease and some hunting for the little drive switches but now it is working well. I will be purchasing another one of these shortly.Update: With my SAS drives this one and the Blue one I have had problems with some (the first 3) LED lights being amber instead of green except when active. I just recently purchased the Black BPU-350SATA. It works fine with my SAS drives and it does not have the LED problems I have experienced. So Far I like it much better.

Great build quality but because the cage lack of insert lanes I had to use a hammer to fit it in my case (thermaltake level 10 battle edition), even after the rough installation there was a gap (as shown in the pictures), it's also a little bit noisy (maybe replacing the fan will help) but I can live with that.Great product overall.

Works good ... Don't like that it doesn't have cut outs for the 3 bays. My case had "guides" between each 5.25 bay. I had to use a grinder to remove them before this would slide into the case.

It does what i need it to. you will need to do modifications on almost all the market Cases. and this is understandable and cant be resolved. i have 4x 4 TB in it and they are working fine without any issues or high temperatures.

1: Goofy nonstandard mount screws for the drives that are easy to lose.2: Pointless fan control that won't let you just set the fan to "on"3: Failed after three months of use.

It really is nice for hot swap operations. This is my third device, and I have found it works perfectly.
