A More Permanent Writing Solution
I was reading an article about legendary writer and director David Mamet. It mentioned Mamet has used a Caran d'Ache fountain pen over the last couple of decades. I have never owned or even considered using a fountain pen. The multi-colored Bic pens were always good enough for me. I wasn't going to overspend on the higher end models on the Caran d'Ache website or even try to figure out which model Mamet uses. I bought this model based on the design and the price. It seems like the happy medium.Installing the ink cartridge was easy enough. The ink flows well. The pen is comfortable to use. There is a slight adjustment to the angle I write, so everything appears on the page. I didn't buy this with the intention of doing calligraphy, only handwriting for me. This may be a more environmentally friendly choice, since you just replace cartridges or use bottled ink instead of throwing away cheap pens. It looks good and it's well made. Swiss craftsmanship in action.

A nice pen
This is a nice pen in style and build. A bit lighter in weight than I expected, but not an issue. It is balanced in the hand when unposted but feels a bit too long when posted. The medium nib writes more like a fine and is a bit drier than I would normally like. It writes, however, exceptionally smoothly, even on cheap paper. It's not the lowest cost fountain pen out there, but it's also not the most expensive. I would like it more if it wrote a bit wetter, but, at it's price point, it a very nice pen. It also makes a very nice addition to my Caran d 'Ache 849 collection of ballpoint pens and mechanical pencils.Update: I've been using this pen for about 6 months now. I spent some time tuning the nib early on and now absolutely love it! It's smooth and writes beautifully. The ink flow is very nice with no hard starts, no skips and with no problems keeping up with my writing. Because the grip section is narrow, it's not my go to pen for long writing sessions, but that's true of all my Caran d'Ache 849s. This is an excellent fountain pen with a reasonable price point. Recommended.

It's a good looking pen as long as you don't write.
It's really good looking pen on my desk. However, I could barely write a sentence with it. I should hold the nib in a certain and narrow angle in order to write a word. The ink flow constantly pauses if I slightly lean my hand. It's also terribly hard to write a signature without leaving some parts it blank. Last but not least, the cap got loose after a week, perhaps after 5-10 time openings. Only one star, besides the minimum one, due to the style and vivid red color.

Esemplare sfortunato?

Totalmente recomendados.
