Camera and measure export only works with paid app
The camera function displays on the device screen. To export your measurements and pictures you must use an app that is an extra cost/subscription that is not supported by the manufacturer of this device. As a basic laser measure device it is not bad for the price. I would expect a camera device to provide a DCIM folder when connected to a USB host. If this device could provide that along with a file export of the photos and measurements it would be nearly perfect. The timing of the measurement sample and the display blanking is awkward. The screen blanks out. Otherwise I use this as a normal measure device. It does not appear that there is a way to update this unit.

Great for the price point
We used to use Leica distos with the camera zoom feature but they got to be too expensive. This works for 95% of what we need for a fraction of the price. The camera needs a little improvement. When you push "measure" the screen only shows what the camera last saw, so its hard to know if you are still on target while its measuring. On a long measurement its hard to hold the device perfectly steady while pushing buttons. The leica models continue to display "live" views of what you are aiming at until the measurement is recorded. Otherwise really good for the price. Appears to be built for tough conditions. Others we have used break from a 2ft drop when they are advertised for much more.

I like the distance, but the camera is useless
It’s difficult to see the red laser dot in full sun, and the camera feature is basically useless for how I use this. When I’m full sun, it can be very difficult to see the laser dot when measuring for a site plan or yards. Inside it’s perfect.

I bought it for outdoor use and occasionally it cannot read (due to bright sun?). Otherwise, I love it.

Half the price of the Bosch outdoor unit with Camera with all the features.
No more walking across rebar mats to get QC measurements. Easy to see in bright sunlight. I will not go back to regular tape measures. The Bluetooth connection an app needs a little work but for regular measuring you can't beat the price and the camera view is a key feature for measuring outdoors in full sunlight.
