Good
the g6 receiver only lasts one year to use, you also need to buy the transmitters that only last three months and the sensors that are changed because they expire every 10 days. it is very expensive but it works, it is a good way to control sugar levels.

dexcom, not what you think
be careful. dexcom promised a new complimentary transmitter. even gave order number . never shipped order. called and got a RECORDING stating that they were not sending out orders that were not covered by insurance. no matter what anyone tells you, You will have to still use test strips. this is even in the instruction manual, and you may run into other instances where you will have too also. have seen readings between dexcom6 and medtronic bayer glucometer differ by as much as 40 points. its a dexcom6 and i am sure there will be a 7 because there is alot of room for improvement. Check the cost of supplies of this before getting, it is much higher than any strip method and possibly other monitoring . The only plus i see is the system warns you of glucose level fluctuations as they occur

What You Should Know
As already stated the receiver does expire, and without warning, it just flashes a blank screen. As for the G6 system, it is best for brittle diabetics that want better control of their glucose levels, and contrary to what Dexcom says, you do still need to check your blood glucoses with a glucometer. The G6 should be covered by most insurances and is by Medicare because without, it is cost prohibitive. The G6 has helped save my life because of the alerts that you set to warn you if you're glucose is too high or too low.
