Wizard IV Stained Glass Grinder

I bought this glass grinder after taking a beginner's level stained glass class. The grinder is similar to ones we used in the classroom over the 7 weeks of classes so I felt very comfortable in using it right out of the box. It does what it supposed to do and it does it well. I have used both grinding bits, the larger 1" and smaller 1/4". I like that it has a "second story" work surface to use while on the 1/4" bit. I had gotten used to "hand-holding" glass at that bit, but it's nice to have a steady surface. Users should be aware that water and debris does fly out from the bit and the optional folding vinyl backdrop ( tri-fold screen ) is really a great and useful addition. I like the product very much and I would recommend it heartily to any beginner.

I have had two of these grinder for my hobby - stained glass. The workspace grid/area is large enough for big pieces of glass. It works well and isn't messy like other grinders that are out there. It is easy to clean and I was very happy to find one on Amazon. I have worn two out in almost 20 years now so I didn't have a problem with buying a third. I heard that these are no longer in production so hopefully I can use this for quite a few more years to come.

I want to give this 5 stars because it is my favorite toy. For the price, it is easy to use and effective. However, a couple things I don't love about the design. 1) I'm getting a sort of "toothy" edge on some of my glass. I'm hoping that a finer bit will help. 2) Must really be full of water to work smoothly, and then it sprays a lot of water and mud while you work. You really need to make a shield of some kind to contain it. 3) the little storage compartment is super convenient for sponges, bits, and wrenches, but it fills with water and then things rust.

I bought this to replace a grinder that was over 25 years old. It is VERY nice. The bit that it came with was quite coarse. I am using it for now but may buy a finer bit later. It actually makes my grinding go faster though!I really like the five year warranty and the top that can be flipped over when one side is worn. I really like this grinder and would recommend it to anyone. I hope it lasts at least as long as the other.

I love the large work surface I have two other grinders but my old Inland grinder was my choice so after15 years of almost daily use I had to have a new one.

read about it in magazine and had used one before liked it now this new one is even better would recommend it.
