The Blind Men and the Elephant (Hello Reader!, Level 3, Grades 1&2)

This parable is one for the ages, but this version of the parable tries too hard to lengthen the story and provide unnecessary flourishes. Perhaps it is makes sense as a book for beginning readers, but the extra length and flourishes detract from the power of the parable rather than add to it.On the other hand, the graphics are spot on.

I first heard this story from a book by Lillian Quigley. That book is long out of print, and is hard to find at a reasonable price. I settled for this easy reader version for my granddaughters. It's well done, and will be a fun story for them.

I love this book! I actually used this book as a part of my organizational team meeting to drive home the point that we all have our own unique perspective regarding the organization and that we are all correct. But we cannot lose sight I’d the big picture of the Organization.

This is a classic to teach the importance of various view-points and open-mindedness. Perfect for a read aloud approximate ages 2-12. We had fun discussing it afterwards:) Nice illustrations too!

This was a good, clear telling of this tale. Though use in a TFL context in an indigenous village required some modification, the illustrations supported the tale very well. A great story for acting out --there are some wonderful neuro-sensory activities online for building context.

Great classic story for beginner readers.

This is a great story about blind men who want to know what an elephant is. I use it to teach my science students about observations and inferences, as well as point of view and prior knowledge. It is a great discussion starter.

I dont feel this book was as advertised, it was in the braille section, but doesnt contain braille, I would not recommend it to anyone over 5 years of age

great book ! got it on time. it works great. I would say other people would like to read this book.
