1997 Toyota celica
I got it on sale and it’s a very good radio for the price. I don’t remember if it was $60 or $80 when I got it but it works good. Buttons are loud to click which is my only gripe about it. Wireless CarPlay always connects first try. Looks nice but there is a lot of glare on the touch screen. Fitment was okay on my 1997 celica around the bezel. Other radios fit perfectly but this one was very tight around the radio bezel.

Easy to set it up, good sound and durability
Very convenient and cost-effective stereo. High quality and good sound. It has stable conectivity and it can be set it up with the steering wheel. I've been using for 4+ and and still have it installed in my honda 2008 CRV.

Died 21 days after install.
3 Week Update: Changed to ONE STAR. After three weeks, the unit will no longer power on. It's getting power to the back of the unit from both constant power and accessory, and is properly grounded, but will no longer power up. I can no longer recommendOkay... Lets do this. For starters, this is a sub $145 head unit. It's not going to win any awards and I knew that going into this. I honestly only needed something NOW, for a 18yr old truck I just purchased, to replace the really bad factory unit while putting the majority of my money into fixing things that were way more pressing/important. My goal was to throw this in, abuse it for 2-3 months, then replace it with a $600 Sony unit. I expected the menu to be sluggish, the output to be "meh", at best, and to have connection issues with wireless android auto.I've had none of those things. Menu is faster than expected, just as fast as most higher end head units; Connection to wireless android auto is fast and seamless, with zero issues so far; and the output is much greater than expected. I'm not running any amps and only pushing to cheaper 6x8s that replaced the falling apart factory speakers, but it sounds much better than it should in an almost 20 year old work truck. If it keeps running and performing like this, I will be keeping it and not replacing it with a higher end model.

A legitimate choice for a low-end head unit w/ responsive customer support.
Normally I'm pretty dubious about buying electronics that are engineered/designed in China and I feel that you often get what you pay for, however I have found some electronics in China that actually were well designed and engineered and at least gave the appearance of high quality. At the end of the day it doesn't matter what country it comes from, rather that the people behind it actually put in effort. When I wanted to replace the head unit on my weekend car, I initially was only looking for a cheap single-din head unit with bluetooth (Pioneer, Sony, Etc), but when I realized I could get Carplay for nearly the same price I figured I'd give it a try. How bad could it be? And besides it's not like I'm using it every day. I decided to give it a try. As a point of reference I have a Sony XAV AX1000 in my daily driver, which is about as basic as it gets for a Carplay head unit and costs twice as much.Initial impressions while unboxing were very good. Packaging felt high quality, it came with 2 screen protectors which I thought was a nice touch (matte finish and clear), an external mic, and a video harness that I didn't end up using. The unit itself seemed flawless. The harness used standard wiring colors and was well labeled. At this point it was seemed no different than a Pioneer or Sony. Also one thing that's worth mentioning is that the instruction manual was written and illustrated very well. I've always found a good indicator of quality when it comes to Chinese electronics is the quality of the documentation.Installation was no different than any other head unit and one really nice touch was that it interfaces with resistive-type steering wheel controls without needing an interface like the SWC-1.So how does it work? Really well actually! First off, the display is gorgeous. I honestly wasn't expecting it at all, and definitely much better than the low-res TFT resistive panel on my Sony. Bright, nice rich colors and sharp lines. The interface while, obviously borrowing heavily from Apple's aesthetic is fluid and quick. There's a good amount of settings and customization, notably the ability to have separate volume levels for each source, and the ability to set the brightness level with headlights on and off.Only complaint about the interface is the AM/FM radio is a bit confusing to operate and doesn't adhere to normal standards when it comes to setting presets, etc. I couldn't figure it out without reading the manual.Carplay starts up at least as quickly as it does on my Sony and seems to work just fine. Seems very stable (wish I could say the same about the Sony). There is one issue however, and that brings me to my first interaction with Atoto customer service. There seems to be a bug in the internal audio switching. While listening to audio via Carplay, if you want to listen a different source such as the FM radio, but continue to use Carplay for navigation, etc, you can't. When you go back into Carplay the audio from your phone resumes. This is stupid annoying because I like to listen to the news frequently on my morning commute. Additionally sometimes when activating Siri, the FM radio will come on in the background. There is a workaround however, in that if the FM radio is currently playing before you plug your phone in, it will continue to play while Carplay is on the screen.I reached out to Atoto's customer service explaining the issue. I honestly was not expecting to hear any response, but I actually got a reply within a few hours. The rep asked me to film a video of the issue and send it to them, which I happily obliged. They reviewed the issue and agreed that it's not supposed to work that way and that the engineers will work on a fix but didn't have a timeline yet. Fair enough. At least the recognized the issue actually responded. Oh, but they did offer me a return and refund and when I said that's ok I'll keep it and wait to see what happens, they offered to send me a free backup camera as compensation for my troubles. Now lets contrast that with Sony. Sony has a well known issue with Carplay freezing during phone calls, audio going haywire, and sometimes locking up/rebooting the head unit. Sony customer service says there's nothing wrong and there'll be no firmware updates, despite many users having this issue. That's it. Stick it in your rear end. Did I mention that the Sony costs twice as much?As far as sound quality, I'm using the 2v preouts directly into the factory bose amp/speakers on my '06 Miata so I can't really give an honest assessment of sound quality other than to say it sounds at least as good as the factory head unit did. 2v preouts are par for the course on lower end head units and I don't see it sounding any better or worse. It does have a 7-band EQ and typical crossover adjustments. In conclusion I'm actually very impressed with this head unit. It's a real piece of electronics made by people that appear to care. I wouldn't put it up against an Alpine Halo9 or anything but chances are if you're looking at this head unit you're not willing to spend Halo9 money anyway. I'm actually considering replacing the Sony in my daily driver with another one of these as long as they fix the carplay audio switching issue. I'll have to check in in a month or 2 to see if they updated the firmware. If it weren't for that this would be a five star product.

Great value and features! Better than my much more expensive head unit and reliable as well!
I had 3 objectives in mind when purchasing a newer head unit for my vehicle:1) The vehicle is a Jeep with a soft top, it had to be bright enough to be seen in direct sunlight2) I needed a unit with Android Auto and Apple Carplay3) It had to be priced right - the vehicle is a convertible and I can't risk theft of an expensive head unitI looked through reviews and found that this unit had great reviews. I continually ran across reviews for ATOTO products that all claimed they performed way above their price point. I was initially skeptical, but based on the reviews I ordered the head unit and it was promptly delivered by Amazon. Upon opening the box, it contained everything I needed aside from my vehicle specific wiring harness which I had already purchased. The installation was easy and was completed in a couple of hours in my driveway.Once installed, I started utilizing the features and the first obvious win was the wireless Apple Carplay. I run Carplay on another vehicle I own - but it isn't wireless. The setup is easy and has honestly worked flawlessly. The FM reception on the unit is very good, enabling me to pickup stations I have issues with in other vehicles. The backup camera is nice and works well - it doesn't have the best definition I have ever seen, but the fact that it is included in this bundle is a bonus! Finally, the brightness of the unit is very readable - even in direct sunlight with the top down.I know this isn't the highest specification ATOTO unit, but they knocked it out of the park at this price point! I own a K**wood head unit that cost me 3x as much that didn't come with a backup camera, isn't as bright, and isn't wireless. This unit is a much better unit overall, price notwithstanding. Excellent job ATOTO!!!
