My bf was incessantly complaining about cold coffee. Our poor microwave got a good workout on warm-ups and it was inconvenient when we were upstairs enjoying weekend whatever's and it was downstairs. THIS is a great solution for situations like the one I just described. I saw earlier models of this concept and the reviews weren't great, so I revisited it later knowing his birthday was coming up and knowing if I heard one more complaint about it I was going to lose my marbles. That is never good for our house when THAT happens. So, I took the plunge and it was a good call. I haven't heard a stinking squeak about cold coffee since, and it sure has been nice. Now, if we can work on the slurping when he drinks his coffee it would be perfection but we pick our battles, right? I'll take the quiet for now, Lol. Ladies, if you are a middle aged peri- menopausal woman like me who has little patience anymore for unnecessary difficulty and values low blood pressure and easy everything, this just might be your ticket to a peaceful, weekend heaven. Hot coffee and a happy boyfriend equal quiet weekend mornings for me so it was worth every penny and then some. Winning!Side note: I waited to write this review to make sure there were no product flaws. There are none to report. Seriously, not a single one, and this guy drinks multiple cups of coffee a day. Honestly, took me a long time to come around to spending this kind of money on a coffee mug, but Happy Wife Happy Life. It has become a bedtime routine that I make sure this thing is on the charger each night before bed otherwise I know if my wife has to start her day with a "regular" old coffee mug and not one keeping her coffee at the perfect temp, it'll be a rough day. Can't say enough about these guys. We have the travel ones for us both now too.

A totally unnecessary but, at the same time, luxurious amenity. You can set the temperature you want in the app and it will notify you when your beverage has cooled to that temperature and then will keep your beverage at that temperature for over an hour. It may last even longer if you get a lid for it. Would highly recommend this as a gift for a family member or coworker who drinks coffee or tea.

The original review was accurate, but now that I've had the mug for 6 months (Originally 3 star), I have to reduce its rating... The mug itself is great, works well, and does what it says. It keeps my drinks at the temperature I set it to. The reason I'm reducing the rating here for 2 reasons.1) Trying to reach an actual person or something more intelligent than an automated help desk, is seeming to be nearly impossible.- To expand on this: I have been unable to find any contact information to report any issues I do have with the mug or software (I have no issues with the mug so far, but the software annoys me to no end).2) The software for the mug is so far below par, that they might as well just have a digital display on the side to show the temp and just set it that way.- Let me expand on this:a) If you don't keep your mug paired, ie: carry it with you 100% of the time, anytime it isn't paired, it forgets its pairing, and you have to go through the pairing procedure again to reconnect it. My car is a 2014, and the BlueTooth in it remembers my phone when I start it up, but this mug cannot.b) There's no way to override the heating to ON, if the sensor doesn't trigger to say the mug isn't empty, it won't turn on, even in the software Bluetooth connection. Through some digging, it states that it determines if it's empty by the significant difference in temperature: The mug is cold, pour warm to hot fluid in it, and it detects the temp change and determines it's not empty. I understand this is probably a safety feature to prevent the mug from burning out, but there should be some way to turn it on when you put room temp liquid into a room temp mug. (I usually make a batch of tea, and if I don't finish it all in a day, I use it the next day, I shouldn't have to microwave the first cup just to get it hot enough for the mug to realize it's full.)So in summary:-The mug is absolutely great, so far it's held up fine, with no chips/scratches. Works great to keep temp set.-Software needs a LOT of work. The biggest issue is the Bluetooth connection/protocol. I shouldn't have to re-pair it every day just to connect to the mug to change it from Tea to coffee, or some other temp for a different drink.-Better contact forms, for when you can't resolve the problem via automated help.I'm hoping that by rating this at only 1 star, maybe I'll get a way to contact the company, or at least they'll read this review and take the issues under advisement. Maybe even make a suggestions/complaints form to get these issues noticed so they know what to work on. Until I see a way to contact a live person, even if it's just email, or something simple, I cannot rate this higher than a 1. IF I were having a real issue with this mug (like it not working) I'd be out the money it cost me to buy it.Original Review Below this line:***********************************Keeps my tea at the temperature I set, making every sip enjoyable.Pros:Heats relatively fastKeeps Temp very well.Con's:It's for Right Handers, if you're left-handed, (or hold the mug in your left hand), the LED is on the back side where you can't see it (less of a problem while you're actually holding it), but if you set it down for grabbing with your left hand you can't see the LED.The software is a little glitchy. I tried setting it to Celsius for a little bit, then when I tried to switch it back to Fahrenheit, it wouldn't switch, I had to reset the app completely to default to get it back to Fahrenheit.Couldn't find a contact form for issues (like the above software glitch), or suggestions.

For everyone having limited use with this product, you HAVE to first rinse it out, to remove the burnt coffee at the bottom, THEN you need hand dry it with a paper towel, as anything else WILL scratch the base of the mug, causing it more easily (rapidly) burn, limiting it’s productive lifespan.Also the cheapest element is the low-cost, third-rate charging cord. So, if possible, purchase several, as the charging cords WILL rapidly fail, without question.

OK ... So I waited several months before writing a review. Initial thoughts ... Ember does a Great job keeping your coffee hot! Certainly much better job than some of the inexpensive options (e.g. better than Brookstone per my personal experience). Definitely keeps me from having to reheat coffee in the microwave every 10min ... HOWEVER, the Ember does not solve for one of my key challenges. I tend to drink coffee with Cream & Sugar. And when you re-heat creamy coffee, it tends to burn a layer of milk that sits on the surface (it's terrible ... ruins a good cup of coffee when you drink that muck by accident). And sadly, because the Ember does such a good job keeping coffee hot ... this same phenomenon tends to happen. And more specifically, it tends to happen if you leave those last few sips sit too long (tends to super heat a bit as you get to the bottom of your mug). I'm thinking I could probably try to adjust the Temp setting as I get to the bottom ... but I rarely remember to do that. So all said, Great mug ... but not Perfect. And yes, for the record ... app still kinda stinks. Doesn't happen all the time, but mug often loses Bluetooth sync.
