Rough and unsophisticated
Language rough and unsophisticated. Not well written. Kept rewriting it in my head as I read. Story line was sexy and had possibililities but got so tired of the self absorbed, 'no one listens to what I want' princess and the writing that I finally had to stop.

Write what you know.
Always been taught: write what you know. Clearly this writer doesn't know historical romance. The language was completely contemporary. I recommend that this writer stick with contemp stories. Or she should read a lot of historicals. Some great books were written by Catherine Coulter, Johanna Lindsey, and Sandra Hill. I also recommend she buy a Webster's Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary. It gives the year, century, or circa a word was first used. Some words just reach out and slap you. A princess of that time would not refer to her father as her dad. Vikings didn't refer to their brew as beer. It was ale. Only two examples which verify that little to no research was done. Doubtful I'll read this writer's work again.

Not historically accurate
It's a romance book and quick read. It's not very historical except for the fact it uses terms like "viking" and "king". The historical facts are very much missing. It was very modern characters with a light brushing of historical themes and no historical accuracy. Still it was a quick easy read. Not bad, just not what I had wanted.

Nope.
I knew that this story would be a problem when the girl talked about reading novels and writing in her journal. Then I realized that the characters would talk and act like crude teenagers. Yuck! I skipped through the book, reading a bit here and there, to the end, just because I have a hard time quitting a book, but it wasn’t worth it.

An unbelievably good book!
I was not sure about this series, but I am so glad that I have begun reading it. Book 1 & 2 completed and cannot wait for more. This is a really good series on the Vikings and their role in Great Britain. It is, of course, a love story too, but it also has war, alliances, deceit and grief all wrapped up. A very good series that I highly recommend!

Entertaining read
I really enjoy her stories. Others have noted that they find the lack of historical language distracting but while I did have to get used to the use of modern terms and language, I did not find it to be a problem. The characters are likable. I hope there will be other characters with stories of their own. This is not a "clean" story.

Loved the alpha males
The princess aka Sassa enjoys her independence and will not agree to marry any man. Then one day her father who has been her everything is given an ultimatum to either go to war or marry his daughter to the Viking Warlord. Those are not easy options. Finding this out the princess runs away but is caught by Grim the Viking warlord. He likes her because she stands up to him and is feisty. But he has enemies and she is now his weakness. What will happen?

Exciting and action packed
Love the way our lovers meet and come to terms with each other. The relationships and family grows with each chapter.
