Chew Proof Guinea Pig Cage

not worth the money
This cage works to house a guinea pig, but it has a few problems that made me purchase a different one. First, the latches on the sides of the cage are very difficult to use. They don't fit properly which makes taking the cage apart and putting the cage back together for cleaning very difficult. Second, the bottom of the cage is very shallow, so it doesn't hold much bedding. The bedding it does hold falls out of the cage easily as the piggy goes about his day. Even though other cages cost twice as much as this one, they're worth it!

Great for large male rats
I purchased this cage as an add on to my rat cage. The metal bottom is great for my use. I use fleece as the bedding and it holds nicely in the metal bottom. Its intended purpose for guinea pigs is a no no. guinea pigs need to be in a cage twice this size at least and the pan isnt deep enough if you need to use a loose bedding. Works great as an add on but not a primary cage.

Would not buy.
For something labelled a guinea pig cage, it sure is absolutely tiny. I read the dimensions incorrectly and ended up not using this cage because it was too small even for one guinea pig. It's a decent cage but I think it should be advertised for a smaller animal like a hamster, or a rat.

but they enjoy it.
This is a large cage. We have our guinea pig mother and three babies in one. Not sure the chew proof feature is required with guinea pigs (definitely is with other critters such as gerbils!), but they enjoy it.

Liked it
Bought it as a travel cage or when the GP's must spend a weekend away from home. It is fine for that! I actually have a large cube cage for everyday.
