Bosch Professional 25-Piece PointTeQ HSS Twist Drill Bit Set (for Metal, ProBox, Drill Driver Accessories)

This size is perfect for most of my gardening wood works. The one that came with my drill got broken. So I bought this as extra backup. So far none is snapped and happy with it.

AMAZING……never in all my 45 year history using drill bits have l come across such an amazing metal drill bit.One single bit drilled 150 times through 3mm steel section without a problem.I honestly can’t recommend this product highly enough, this bit is by far the best metal drill bit on the market and sold a very reasonable price.

These rip through steel, which is why I bought them after a YT video recommended them for drilling into thick steel. My cheapo bits just wouldn't even dent certain steel. May as well be drilling with a hole punch, lol.After using at low speed with lots of pressure, was able to get through 8mm steel with the 12mm bit, after making a pilot with the 4mm, switching up to 8mm before going all the way with the 12mm. Tried the 12mm off the bat for another hole and it seemed to take much longer on it's own. I may have blunted it a bit but I was using plenty of oil. Saw bits of smoke trails from shards that were coming off as I was going though, which is always a good sign.Time will tell how long they last, they are not as sharp as they were straight out of the box after a few uses, but then you wouldn't expect them to be at this price. The main thing is they still get through thick steel.Only downside in using pilot holes is that the next size drill bit up seems to not want to sit firm and it wobbles before it makes a new opening, meaning it's hard to follow the centre of the hole if you don't have a drill press. Which I think I seriously need.

These Bosch HSS drill bits cut through steel very nicely. I have used many cheap drill bits in the past, but they just make it hard work and do a bad job.I marked my piece with a punch and the drill bit sat nicely centred on the mark and did not wander. Applying firm pressure, keeping the speed low and regularly clearing the swarf out made it a pleasure to do this work. The holes were clean and precise. I followed up by using a larger size to make a countersink.Very pleased, and will be throwing away my cheaper drills - in the end the cheap ones are a waste of money.

When you need a good sharp very hard drill bit you've got to pay the price. Big name brand is the best bet, so I chose Bosch. Surprised to see Made in China on the box! Not used them yet but they sure look good.
