Hard to see, but they're there!
The media could not be loaded. Dont be so quick to throw them away, they're there, you just cant see them. There are a few things you have to keep in mind to raise these.- They need warm temperatures, at least 70 degrees F, too chilly and they will not thrive and even die.- They need oxygen. Either use the little pump thing it came with to blow bubbles in the tank( google to find out how often), or if youre too lazy like me, get a pump with an air stone, and put on the lowest setting. Too much agitation will kill them.- They dont over eat, what kills them is suffocation. If the water is murky, thats too much food, and they will suffocate, especially if you're not blowing bubbles or dont have a bubbler with a pump. I usually feed them when water is clear.I thought mine died off, but then I saw 4 all of a sudden. They started having babies, now I have a ton of them. I just leave them be. I top off the water up to line, thats to keep the salinity level constant. Make sure pump is working and they get enough oxygen. I dont have them by a window, but I do use a grow light. They stay at 76-78 degrees, I keep them by the tv, that keeps them warm. I feed them about every other day, not too much. You have to play it by ear, and depends on how much critters you have in your tank. I got the Magic Castle on April 13, and it is now June 13. So far they are thriving. I got the Sea Monkeys on Mars June 5, so they're just starting to show up. Over all they are easy to take care of. No need for water changes.Don't remove the muck that accumulates at the bottom of their tank, they need that. The dead sea monkey are full of vitamins and minerals, that the live ones need. There's also eggs in there. Dont change the water either, you'll end up throwing away the babies that you can't see.I noticed that a lot of the low reviews were during the winter months. The reason why they either didnt hatch or died off was probably because they were cold. They need warmth, at least 76-80 degrees F.These arent toys, they are living beings with specific needs to live and thrive.

DO NOT BUY!
Followed directions to a T, only 3 hatched and all died within 4 days! Complete waste of money! My daughter was so disappointed! Purchased one for my son from a different seller at the same time, the directions were completely different and his has 20 still alive!

Don’t give up! They will grow!
My kids are LOVING these! It was so fun checking every day to see if we could see any. Then we found them and they were super tiny. Then we thought they died for a while because we didn’t see them at all but lo and behold one day there they were growing and swimming all around. We have had them almost 2 months now and the kids have fun watching them grow. Maintenance is super easy as they are only fed once a week. We are not even close to running out of the food it came when either. I love that it came with all that we needed.

Keep the babies warm and aerated and they thrive!
I got the kit and like many, didn't have a lot of babies at first. I ended up getting a heated mat along with a controller for the temp and did a lot of research. Keep these babies at 75-81F and pump air with the "aqua leash" a couple times a day for about 15 seconds... and they will hatch. I had a small handful at first. Now I have more than 25! Reverse osmosis water works for adding the water if that's all you can find. Do not get anything with added minerals or salt or anything at all. Just plain distilled or reverse osmosis water. They are pretty much the same thing. Feed the babies only a half of that spoon every three days until fully grown then about once every 5 days and only when the water is clear and they have no "dark line" running through their bodies. That means they are ready to be fed... if you see a line, they have eaten and have food still to digest. Hope this all helps! This kit reminded me of when i was younger growing them for the first time as a teenager. Now as an adult... I have done much better raising them. I have had them for 9 days now and they are getting so much bigger.Remember - keep the babies warm and they will hatch. A little usb heater and small air pump with control valve that has only a few bubbles going a minute without splash will work wonders. :3Happy hatching!

Highly nostalgic
Love it. Brings me back to my childhood. Good price. Good size. Educational. Easy to assemble lol. Still have my colony. They are thriving. It's with the rest of the SeaMonkey tanks. I highly recommend them. It's a wonderful hobby. Plus they are good for apartments. It's not technically a fish tank..so yeah.
