Was way too thin and hardly tough. I'd say about 85-90% or more was too thin and not tough. I want the old fashioned 80s gas station in the middle of nowhere shoe-leather tough. This was not it. Near paper-thin pieces that were translucent were the norm. Decent flavor. Folding the pieces over helped, but it was still not that thick. Definitely not very dry except a few pieces in the whole bag. Those few pieces were perfect, but most were somehow thin and semi-moist.Overall, wanted to love this. I still liked it- just not what it should have been. It's better than most store bought garbage, so don't let the three stars fool you. I'm rating it against what it claimed to be. I'd give any store brand a single star in comparison. It blows any regular grocery store bought away.

This is not the wet oily meat snacks passing off as jerky these days. This is grandpa's dry slightly salty old fashioned jerky that you had better hide. This giant bag was devoured by my teenagers in less than two days. This is the kind of jerky you can put in a trail bag for a hike or a tackle box for fishing, it keeps well and is flavored with soy sauce, Worchestershire and pepper, but not too much that you cannot enjoy the beef flavor. I will be buying more, jerky like this is hard to find these days. If you like the description of "dry and tough" I think that is a little harsh but it is genuine old time jerky. We will be ordering more once I get my Jerky Safe installed to keep the kids out. Eyescan or fingerprint?

One of my favorite jerkys. Has good flavor, all though sometimes a bit too much teriyaki depending on the batch you get. Tough and makes you work for the flavor, sometime I think I spend more calories eating it then it actually has in it! If you like old fashioned thin and tough jerky this is for you!

This jerky does not have much seasoning but has a satisfying texture. I am giving it one star because flavor and texture vary widely from batch to batch and, more important, I received a moldy bag. Customer service was extremely disappointing and ultimately unresponsive. I have since switched to another brand that I much prefer.

Good texture (it is real beef jerky - not the cheap reconstituted emulsion version), but it could use more flavor.

This beef jerky is not very dry or tough. There is absolutely zero taste. I have never had to throw jerky out before. I will take it to work tomorrow and see if anyone there likes it. If not it will go in the garbage. If they do I will edit my review.I brought it to work and no one was able to eat it. Everyone spit it into the garbage.

Overall I did like the jerky. I tend to like mine dryer/tougher than most. As received the jerky had a criss-cross pattern consistent with the drying method used. Taste was lightly sweet with little salt. It won't remove children's teeth if they bite and jerk, but it will resist. Would order again when the urge strikes again.

No taste/flavor/season.....for 1$ plus a oz this was big thumbs down. Texture was fine.
