Easy to Read and Understand
Author does a great job of putting this book together for those who know NOTHING about accu. Allows people to really understand the ins and out of Chinese medicine and acupuncture and how it can help. I didnt realize how many issues/illness's pains etc that could be cured with acupuncture and without medicine!!!

Interesting
I have always wanted to try acupuncture for my husband. He has so many aches and pains. This is a good start. I received a free review copy from the publisher to write a review.

Excellent resource for acupuncture patients
I appreciated that this book surveyed both the traditional perspective as well as summarized some research about acupuncture and TCM. It is well written and easy to read! Perfect for the average patient.

Great new learning tool for you to try
I really like this book with its easy to understand concept of how and why acupuncture work. This is an excellent resource for patients interested in trying acupuncture and not understanding what will happen at an appointment. If you enjoy learning about new things you will love the explanations. The graphics teach you how to even help yourself to try some pressure techniques at home.

A Good Acupuncture Overview
Prior to reading this book I was somewhat familiar with acupuncture. Having read it, I now feel that I have a solid understanding of acupuncture and how it relates to traditional and metaphysical medicine.A Patient’s Guide to Acupuncture provides a solid overview of the field, various ailments and conditions that may be treated by acupuncture and the theory underlying the practice. The perspective is primarily from an exoteric, or surface level vantage point, which serves as a useful starting point, but if you’re interested in a deeper understanding of acupuncture, you will need to seek out additional materials.Overall the book has a nice design and the material is simply stated and straightforward. Also, I was surprised at the level of complexity concerning acupuncture and the range of conditions that acupuncture can treat. It’s really quite an amazing field and appears to be a valuable complement to traditional medicine.Personally I would have liked a bit more depth concerning the deeper aspects and traditions underlying acupuncture. Also, when describing the acupuncture meridians focused diagrams highlighting the meridian in question would have made it easier to follow along through many of the discussions. These points do not necessarily detract from the experience, but rather would have enhanced the journey.Overall, if you’re new to acupuncture or perhaps if you receive acupuncture treatments and would like to know more about the subject then this is your book. It’s a quick read and you’ll have a solid understanding of acupuncture by the time you finish reading.
