Makes my older usb printers easy to network
No built in wifi but no problem if you can run a wire from router to the print server. Or You can buy a wifi extender and connect it to it if you need to be wireless. I had to change the ip address in the X-Media to one of my local router addresses (example 192.168.1.37) to get it to communicate properly in my local network.

Works great!
It took me a couple of tries to set it up. But once installed I was able to hookup my old school HP Laser printer as a network printer.

Does not work
I plugged this into my Ethernet network, but it was not visible on the network. Nmap could not find it. The installation program does not work on Windows 11. Tech support did not answer my emails.

Works as intended
I was looking for a way to allow all those on my home network to access my printer and this device worked perfect, no more “I can’t print out anything !”

Works well if you can get past the poorly written user manual, Instructions and initial settings
In frustration I left seller feedback indicating that it wouldn't work. Then I tried again and after a reset my printer spat out a page with an IP address that was out of range for my router. This suggested that I must now reconfigure my router with a smart home network of over 40 different elements, locks, lights, smart TVs ,wireless printers, security DVRs, etc to match its arbitrarily selected IP address so that I could connect to it to configure. The manufacturer does not provide service on weekends or after hours. There was no one to contact for assistance.Instead I got a port emulator, connected an Ethernet from my laptop to the device and reconfigured my local IP address to be on its IP scheme to be able to contact the device. Now I saw a home page and quickly changed the IP to my network and reverted my laptop. Only then did it actually work. The manual assumed that everyone uses 192.168.0.x/16 and if somehow you don't its setup program won't even display an error it just won't run. From there it worked well and I finally got my old but ever reliable HP OJ 4575 to join my hoe network so that I can print wirelessly to it.Its a useful product but required way too much thinking to get it to work.I am a Cisco, Microsoft, Checkpoint, etc. certified and I shouldn't have to go though so much for such a simple device. The configuration had a DHCP option. If only the manufacturers chose to make this the default then It would have been perfect. After an arduous configuration it works well at a 5 star level. But the crappy instructions and poor setup experience and limited support brings my assessment down to a generous 3.

Works exactly like the old TP-Link ones
Since the TP-Link model was no longer available, we tried another one and it didnt work very well, so we tried this one and it works perfectly! Very Happy!
