The Catcher in the Rye SparkNotes Literature Guide (SparkNotes Literature Guide Series, 21)

This is a paperback of a classic novel. Very good.

Spark Notes--A must for high school english (at least in my home). My son is assigned several books to read this year and this is one of them. I have read this actual book, but it was a long time ago. I read the Spark Notes and use them to make sure that my son is reading the book and that he comprehends it on the appropriate level. They allow me to discuss required readings with my son. I could read the actual book again, but I have already done my time way back in my high school and college days, and now it is his turn.

My sister thought this was useful as a resource to help her understand the novel better!

Whether Cliff Notes or Sparknotes, both are extremely helpful as a supplement. You still have to read the book. When I read the book in my high school days, I didn't fully see the unwritten and subtle meanings expressed by the character's actions or quirky personalities. Now, rereading the book, and using SparkNotes gives me more insight.

This is a great tool to use after reading the book you’re researching to get a clearer understanding of the author’s message. Also great for debate prep.

Bought for my granddaughter it is a tremendous help gives a better understanding of the story

I bought this to read, thinking it was the original book, but it is a summary, more of a study book. Not the books fault, but my own for not reading the description before buying. If you want to study Catcher In The Rye, I would recommend this study guide.

Though i still didn't read if you r an exact salinger passionate you better read it.

I bought this for my 15-year-old son. He was reading this novel in school. When it came time to study, this really helped because I could review the information and quiz him about not only plot, but also themes and symbols. Also, there is a very useful guide at the back to writing an essay that my son used. I'll buy this again for the next novel he reads for school.
