Works just like the genuine charger
I forgot to bring my genuine charger for the ProBook 650 G1 on a weekend trip, so I ordered this inexpensive replacement. I was worried that it may damage the computer, but it works perfectly fine just like the genuine charger. I had read somewhere that HP started using proprietary chargers with smart pins for their laptops, and that generic chargers even with the right size plug won't work. I'm pleased that this charger works and even has the smart pin. The price is great, and so is the product.

The price was the best ever
I have an HP laptop and could not charge it. As a student, I had to have it for use at all times. I did not know the problem so I started with the charger. Amazon had one for less than $15.00. I received it the next day. It worked and saved me from being late for an assignment.

I use as a back up
I got tired of unplugging my charger to take it into another room, so I decided to order a second power cord. I got it before the estimated delivery date and the price was great. I am very happy with my purchase. Would certainly use this dealer.

Not the correct power output for HP EliteBook 840 G1
Two things here:1. The output and input are both visible in the product photo and I should have noticed sooner.2. This is not the right charger for the 840 G1, which is listed as compatible.- This will charge your 840 G1 battery, but the voltage is 18.5 instead of 19.5 and it will charge slowly.- And because the charger is rated to output less than the computer wants, you'll probably end up with a very hot charger.- The charger likely won't last very long and could damage your battery.- It's possible the charger could become so hot that it sets itself on fire, though I don't know how likely that is.Bottom line: ensure the input and output match when you select a charger:- The 840 G1 calls for 19.5 Volts at 4.62 Amps, which is 90 Watts- This charger outputs 18.5 Volts at 3.5 Amps, which is 65 WattsNOTE: I have not tested the charger because I don't have any devices I am comfortable plugging it into. I gave three stars because it's new, arrived on time, and matches the photos.
