Sax Free-Standing and Single-Sided Self-Portrait Mirror - 8 1/2 x 11 inches

My autistic son has weekly nutritional therapy and his therapist recommended this mirror for his sessions. Mirror won’t break, kid friendly and looks real. I’m happy with my purchase.

Used this mirror for self portrait drawings for school. There was slight distortion when you look at straight lines near the bottom of the mirror, but it didn't noticeably distort my face. Its just like the mirrors used in school art classes.

Hard to score a mirror at 3 or less if you use the official Amazon criteria. After all, if it mirrors, looks like a mirror, it's a "duck" (to mangle a common phrase, you get the idea). But higher? Not for this one.If not fractured or has soom other supporting component like a frame, holder, mount, etc. to include in the rating as part of it's "system" (like this one is) you are pretty much limited in grading to 4 max. As a device, it is inexpensive, very rugged, and simple. As such, flexability and range of practical uses is also far from a first rate mirror. The image leaves a lot to desire unless you really don't care about image quality. So, its an occasional use, travel maybe because its big and takes virtually no room, or a child's toy. BUT, it serves my purposes as a mirror that stays on the floor to look at the normally restrcted from view the bottoms of my feet. People with diabeties or neurological disorders of the lower extremities know this is an absolute requirement to do every day. It's quite adequate for that, and won't cover your floor with shards of glass if you accidentally kick it across the room. Doesn't look bad down there either. If you are a minimalist, being just one piece devoid of ornamentation is cool too.

I admit I was nervous about buying this particular mirror after reading some of the reviews but I'm glad I did. This mirror is crystal clear and very lightweight. I was worried it wasn't going to work at all because it feels like it's made out of plastic and it even says "Creative fun for young minds" so I assumed it was a child's mirror, for play but once you peel the film off (see photos) it is absolutely as clear as any other mirror and it was exactly the size & weight I needed at a reasonable price. 5 stars Great little mirror.*****( which by the way if anyone IS looking for a mirror for a young child, this says for ages 3 & up and it seems to be made out of something that is lightweight and seems unbreakable, just so you know)

When the mirror first came and I looked at it, I immediately felt disappointed and wanted to throw it away. It was labeled for child 3+ and made from whole plastic which has very poor reflection quality that I couldn't see anything clearly! At first I thought there must be a film that I can peel off, but alas, there's no sign of it. I was frustrated and it's been almost a week until I got an email from Amazon to review this product. I wanted to write all of my disappointment right away but then I read some positive reviews about this mirror. It's said that there is an "unseen" thin film that should be peeled off. I couldn't resist to try it this morning: I looked for that film and start to peel it off very carefully starting from the bottom corner and it works!! Now the crystal clear reflection from the mirror finally shows up! (Still, there's a tiny little blurry on the edge side, but it doesn't really matter)

Yeah, I hated it at first because the protective covering was not obviously removable, AND for some reason the label makes it look like it's intended for children -- so you get the idea that this $15 mirror is a $2 child's toy mirror. HOWEVER, reading another customer's review with a similar comment, I re-inspected my mirror, and was, indeed, able to remove a protective outer covering, the removal of which reveals a perfectly functional mirror. It is quite nice and clear, and is pretty large, too, and so has served the purpose for which i bought it. (It works nicely for my husband to put in his eye drops. A definite improvement over the previous small round mirror.) So don't be afraid to order this. Oh, and it also would be safe for children. Unbreakable, you see. So good, right? 'Bye!

For those who are having trouble seeing a reflection, PLEASE make sure you have removed the protective plastic film from the surface of the mirror. I'm glad I read the reviews here before it arrived. It's hard to find the edge of the film, but once you get it pulled up, the whole film peels off easily and cleanly.The image in the mirror is very clear, but is a bit distorted at the edges. It is a plastic mirror after all, so not perfect, but it's the best-quality plastic mirror I've used. It's lightweight and serves its purpose (we use it mainly for my son to do his speech therapy exercises). It could easily be used as a self-portrait mirror for an art class, or even to apply makeup.Overall, it's a great value, and I'd recommend it.

I don't have a photo but the item looks exactly like the picture. I bought this to use for makeup and wanted something I could use as a handheld mirror and standing mirror. For me this was absolutely perfect. If you're looking for something at a good price that gets the job done, this is it. As far as distortion, I noticed just a bit of distortion at the bottom where the mirror bends at and angle, but it's so slight and just in that small bottom portion that I don't even notice it and it doesn't make it unusable at all since the part of the mirror you'll use is perfect. Overall I would completely recommend, especially for makeup purposes.
