Good Choice
There's a lot of choices for these on amazon so I had to do my research. These seemed to have the most options, but do they work well? Yes.Options to have a vast choice of "duration time" for the LEDs to be on was what sold me. I have other units like these but you're stuck with one duration and I have another one where you only get two choices. This one has a dial with a ride range of your choosing. Also, this one allows you to use either batteries OR plug it in via USB to a power outlet. Basically, you take a charging block (cell phone) and plug the USB in. Note: I used it via battery at first but I found that since the strip is so long it drained the batteries within a couple of weeks. That didn't work for me so I plugged it in. With that said, I have it in the kitchen under the cupboards and the motion detection is out of this world sensitive, which is awesome. I mean if you get anywhere near the kitchen it turns on. This is why it drained it so fast, and because I had it on a long duration. There's also a setting for "always on", or "dark only". I use it in the coffee corner above the coffee maker so when I wake up in the morning I don't flood my eyeballs with bright kitchen lights. It's perfect.

Easy to Install - Adhesive Works Ok
I got these for a safe that is not close enough to an outlet to get power from an outlet. I first installed these too close to the door opening and one of the locking bolts pressed up against it and messed up the adhesive. Other than that the adhesive stuck pretty well.I ended up ordering some double-sided VHB tape that works wonders and ran that a little further in and then stuck the lights to that. I have had 0 issues since then with these things sticking. Not sure if the bolt messed me up or if it was the paint / coating on the inside of the safe. I am sure on a nice smooth clean surface these would have done much better. Something to note, but not something that I would take a star away from for.Light output is great. I have them crisscrossed in the safe so there is a sensor on either side of the door. One of them comes on as soon as I open the door and the other when I reach in. They are nice and bright, but the batteries do seem to die rather quickly. Might just be that I was in and out of the safe a million times when I was getting it installed and setup. All in all I think this is a great product. Seems well made and not flimsy like some strips can feel. I would buy again if I ever need to add more.

Do NOT buy this, hazardous
DANGEROUSUpdate: Four months in - the light stopped lighting up, so I replaced the batteries. Strip wouldn’t light up. So I opened it up to see if it was user error, maybe I put the batteries in incorrectly? No. Just to be safe, I took them out and put them back in again. Still no success. When I opened it up to pull the batteries out again, they were HOT. *Super* hot, like burn your fingertips hot. I popped the batteries out immediately and then had to throw the unit out because NOBODY WANTS A HAZARD IN THEIR PANTRY. And you shouldn’t want one either.Update: downgraded one star. I have one installed under the sink, that light gets moderate use. About 7 weeks in, it still seems fine. The other one is installed in the pantry, and gets heavy use. The first set of batteries died after one month, which didn’t entirely surprise me. What *did* surprise me is that the second set of batteries have died even sooner than the first (set 1: dead after 4 weeks, 2nd set: dead after 3 weeks.) I’ll put in another set of batteries *again* and see if they die in less than a month - again.Original review: Installed these in 2 places, both cabinets with not enough light. I put the sensor in the front. Cabinets are painted wood interior. Sensors come on great, provides good light, lights stay stuck where I put them. Lights are used frequently as the cabinets are high-use (kitchen).Going to order more. Reserving one more star until I see how fast it uses up battery.

Easy to install and adds a nice bit of ambiance in difficult places
Update: I've seen about a month of battery life with regular use from this. Not as good as I would have hoped, but replacing the batteries is super easy.I ordered this for the toe kick on a 4ft bathroom vanity. I thought having a motion activated night light would be great for those early AM trips for our guests and visitors. The LED strip has a double sided tape backing which makes installation a breeze, however the tape sticks better to the vanity than it does to the LED lights. It's a minor annoyance, but something that should be noted. The kit also includes a 3M double sided foam pad for installation of the battery/motion sensor box. The box itself is about 1.5" wide by 4" long; which should be small enough to tuck out of sight (but still within motion range) in most applications. The amount of light emitted is great, and allows me to see in the dark bathroom despite having the LED pointed at the floor below the vanity. If this was mounted in a more visible location it would provide substantially more illumination. The only two minor complaints I have are with the timer and the motion sensor:First, the timer is just a dial with about 270 degrees of travel, however the first 120 or so don't seem to make any difference. It seems to go from about 10 seconds, to 60 seconds with no adjustment in between. Maybe if I fiddled with it more I would have some success, but I found a setting I liked after a few tries.Secondly, the motion sensor at times is too sensitive, and isn't sensitive enough. I have mine positioned so that when the bathroom door is opened or someone steps into the bathroom, the lights will turn on. I find it turns on immediately about 75% of the time. The other 25% there is a delay in activating the light. Not troublesome, just annoying. Other times it seems the motion sensor will pick up phantom motion, or motion in the hallway, which is pretty much out of view of the sensor. I'll walk by the bathroom and find the lights on from time to time.I've had it installed for a few weeks now, and I'm using 4 rechargeable AAA batteries to power it. The lights are still going strong, I'll report back with anticipated runtime when I have more data.
