Worth every penny.
Just got it last week. It has way more power than I expected. It is a phenomenal tool and addition to my shop. I gave it five stars because it is easy to change bits, adjust height, and powerful. If I had to complain about something, the base plate that comes with it can't handle a collar for a template... but I knew that when I bought it. Despite some of the comments, the LED lights work well. I think the only other thing I would add if DeWalt is listening is a dush shield on the open face side. Just something to deflect dust away from the user. Awesome tool.

Should have bought this years ago
I have a router, a plunge and a fixed base and I've waffled for years about getting a handheld battery operated.I finally bought one and love it. The ease of use, changing bits, portability, safety, I find myself using a router way more than I used to.My old router now 100% stays in the table.

Solid quality, safe to use, great results
Works amazing and its what you'd expect. The only thing that is notable is how fast it eats through a charge. Have multiple large battiers for it.

Nice little router
Powerful little guy! It has had no troubles chewing into plywood or walnut with 3/4th mortise bit. Well designed tool with respect to depth adjustments and visualization of work area. The router fits the hand well and should be hard to hurt yourself if it's being used appropriately and with care. The router loves eating down batteries though. If the LEDs are flashing it wants a new battery. Keeping the speed between 2-3 will help quite a bit, and is typically the right speed anyway. The short battery life is not overly surprising given it's job. Probably need a corded item if you have lots of routing to do.I doubt it can be avoided in any palm routers but if the battery isn't removed when changing the bit the router will eventually harm you. The power switch isn't overly guarded. The collet lock button should keep your paw away from the switch but If you're absent minded about such things you should probably stay away from the tool class. Routers don't amputate but instead maul flesh.Overall easy tool to recommend for quantity (not power) limited routing tasks for safety minded folks.

Perfect for the DIY Formica project
Used this router as the trim router for new Formica countertops in the kitchen. Worked better than my corded router. At least for Formica.

Great Router, Horrible On/Off Switch
Pros:Router is well made, cuts well etc.Cons:Dewalt - this is for you. What genius in your design team came up with an on/off switch that you cannot tell is on or off by looking at it, cannot tell which whether it is on or off by putting your finger on it, cannot tell by feel which way to push to turn it on or off? If you are cutting a groove for instance and want to remove the router after cutting to one end, it is normal practice to turn the router off and then remove from the slot. You can’t do it safely or reliably with this switch.Every other router out there has an easy to use, ergonomic switch, but not dewalt. Why not use the same switch on your corded routers. Easy to see/feel to turn it off.
