High quality, plenty of power, replaced another brand with this.
I bought a competitors version of this a few years back with a cord, I thought I only use it occasionally a cord is no big deal but after using it I realize that especially because this is for smaller projects the cord does get in the way. I’ve been migrating over to the Dewalt ecosystem and had a few batteries and chargers, so I thought I would give this a try and it’s not only more convenient because it’s cordless but It’s better quality than the orange cold one with the cord that I have. Plenty of torque and power, sometimes not the case with cordless tools, but this one is a winner for what it is designed to do.

Should’ve bought this thing sooner
his router is a beast. I’ve used corded routers for years and didn’t think going cordless would make that much of a difference—but man, it does. Not having to fight with a cord while trying to make clean passes is a game changer, especially when you’re working on edges or out in the yard.Power-wise, it holds its own. I’ve run it through hardwood and plywood, and it doesn’t bog down. Super smooth, and the depth adjustments are actually easy to dial in. Battery life is solid too—I’m running 5Ah batteries and haven’t had any issues during projects. If you’re already in the DEWALT 20V system, this is a no-brainer. It’s one of those tools that makes you wonder why you waited so long to grab it.

DeWalt cordless router.
Came on time. Popped in a battery and hit start. Ran it through the speed settings and they all worked. Put in a ogee bit and ran a test cut on some real dry cedar. Cut as well as my two corded DeWalt routers. Have one in my cnc and one for free hand work. This will let me do things away from plug ins, no need to lug a generator around. Will use all my batteries. Have 1.5 to 9 amp, size, will see what works best on various woods. Will update.

Surprisingly powerful and light
The Dewalt 20v trim router is surprisingly light and powerful. Do you HAVE to have a cordless router in your woodshop? No. However, this is much quiter, easier to handle, and more convenient than the larger heavier corded versions. The clear base makes it easy to see what you are doing. The design of the body is easy to hold and control even with smaller hands. My only issue was getting the bits to stay tight. Perhaps I just didn't have the feel for how tight I needed to snug it down. After the first few bit changes I didn't seem to have any problems.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Reliable, Powerful, and Precise – DEWALT Does It Again!
I’ve been using DEWALT tools for years, and the 20V Max XR Cordless Router (DCW600B) absolutely lives up to the brand’s reputation for quality and performance. This router is incredibly powerful for a cordless model, with the brushless motor delivering smooth, consistent cuts every time. The precision is top-notch—depth adjustments are easy and accurate, and the soft start feature makes it a dream to handle, even for more detailed work. It's lightweight but solid, and the ergonomics are spot on. I love the freedom of cordless without sacrificing performance.Battery life is impressive, especially with a 5Ah pack, and the LED lights are a nice touch when working in dimmer areas. Whether you're trimming, rounding over, or doing plunge-style work with the optional base, this router handles it all.If you’re already invested in the DEWALT 20V lineup like I am, this is a no-brainer. Solid, dependable, and built to last—just what I expect from DEWALT.

Well designed compact tool, but a little weak
I really love the Dewalt brand and have been trying to build out an arsenal of all battery powered Dewalt tools. I have tried this router out and would say it is compact and well designed, but with many power tools, it seems kind of weak and struggles to cut across a board doing plunge cuts. Other than that it is very well designed. The bits are fast and easy to change because you just extend the chuck all the way out and it gives just enough space to fit the the included wrench around the nut from below the bottom of the tool, so you can turn 360 with the wrench. It's also easy to raise and lower the depth, with a quick release clamp like they have on modern bike seats.

Easy to use. LED is great.
I like that I don't have to fight a cord on the battery powered router. The mechanism to adjust the height is easy to use. The LED is a great addition to see the work.
