Excellent image quality and build quality.
Wide angle lens coupled with a great quality sensor give exceptionally good results. Threre's no point having a dash-cam if the footage looks like it was taken with a Nokia from 10 years ago. You have a dash-cam to help protect and defend your position should you be involved in an accident, witness an accident or need to report dangerous driving by other people. Good quality, wide angle, high frame rate footage is essential in such cases. The main camera and recording unit is fairly big, it reminds me of an old Casio point and shoot camera but with a nice fisheye lens on it. The rear camera is much more subtle and allows for a stealier rear installation. The included suction mount bracket is good, it hasn't lost suction in several weeks now. This is important to know, some other suction mounts I've had in the past for sat nav and phone holders have slowly lost suction over a few days and then fall off the windscreen suddenly without warning. No such problems with the bracket included with this camera.I had mine professionally installed by a local car audio-visial specialist. You can connet it all up yourself quite easily but I prefer a full professional installation, all wires hidden so I barely notice it's there. The main front camera is not made of cheap plastic, it's a solid, well engineered chunk of metal which is reassuring compared to some of the other cameras I've seen in the past which feel very light and plasticy.I've forgotten whether this unit came with a micro SD card (I don;t think it did) but I have plenty about the house for GoPros and drones so that wasn't a problem for me and since you can set it to loop record you really don't need a huge capacity card anyway. I like the motion detection aspect for monitoring my car when it's parked up too, I've got CCTV at home and at work to monitor my car(s) but sometimes it's reassuring to check if somebody has been peering through the car windows or trying to open the doors when it's parked in remote locations.

DON’T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT ONE.
A couple of near misses at mini roundabouts and the never ending nuisance of inattentive mobile phone fanatics and coffee drinkers prompted me to buy my first dash cam for legal purposes. However,I recently discovered a battery fault and design flaw in my first one which I have now dumped in favour of this one.The original cost three times more than the Jeemak yet this outperforms the old one hands down.(apart from one aspect)This cam has easy to use menus,is easy to set up and comes with an easy to follow instruction booklet. The function buttons are also very easy to use and identify.I like the fact it runs automatically when you start up and doesn’t stop recording at lights in traffic jams or at a junction .You can also by-pass the short clip shooting mode, which I find an advantage. It’s slightly larger than anticipated and the styling actually makes it look like a pocket camera. The metal case also makes it feel slightly heavier.Though it it has stayed in place o the windscreen without a problem. It comes with a tiny rear view camera which is about twice the size of an Oxo cube and which is attached to a long cable that you can feed under the carpet to the rear of practically any car.You don’t have to fit the rear view camera if you don’t want too as the main camera still works with it detached. After setting up I did a quick test run and later completed a number of seperate journeys over a couple of days.I took a look at the resulting video images by transferring the car cam SD card across to an android tablet and used the excellent VLC app to view it. (available from Amazon)I am delighted with the quality of the video and the fact that each journey is recorded as a seperate item from start to finish.Plus when reviewing I was able to delete any journey and release the space on the SD card. The only downside for me is that when I bought it I thought it recorded driving speed but unfortunately it does not.I had looked at a number of cameras on the Web before selecting this one so it’s possible I have confused the issue.I still gave it five stars because it warranted when based on performance as related to product description.I am absolutely delighted with the quality and ease of operation which is faultless. It’s a great buy as long you are not bothered about recording your driving speed.
