Made in Abyss Vol. 3 Kindle & comiXology

Oh boy it's hard to talk about volume 3 of Made In Abyss without spoiling it. All I'll say is make sure to bring tissues cause things get dark and tragic. And is a masterpiece of storytelling for what is covered in this volume, a very rare 10 out 10 volume. Also this is as far as the anime has adapted, so any further volumes will be beyond the anime. As for non spoilers let's talk about non story beats of the volume. Volume 3 there brings to the front what the series has always stated from the beginning, the Abyss is deadly. We finally get to see the effects the of ascending out of the Abyss in the human body and is it brutal. Seriously this is where the series earns its older teen rating. It's bloody and disturbing but don't get me wrong it's not gratuitous and is tamer than a series like Attack On Titan. I just wanted to through that warning out there. All I know as someone who watched the anime first before checking out the manga is I am excited to see what comes next. -MickManga

I watched the show before reading the book. This has the same intensity somehow. The art is in you face. This is the most emotional volume in the series.

Really not much to say if you have gotten to the third. you are likely committed, as this is as far as the anime goes as of writing (season 2 in the works, however!) Its still good. Very good. I bought all 2-7 at the same time after finishing the first, without hesitation. Probably will take an hour and a half to read each manga, depending on how much you savor the art and dialogue, and reading speed of course.

Finish reading, and still going thru each volume. Story sad, dark, art is good as well. Story is great still. Danger lurking on the 4th layer of the abyss. I’ve seen the anime first so I knew what’s going happen. But regardless I’m a fan of this anime. And I’ll continue on reading.

A very creative yet warped world and plot. Can be a bit violent and have disturbing content that might be a bit much for some, but you can become really attached to the characters.

The story is a very interesting sci-if/fantasy. I decided to purchase this when the anime started getting too gross to watch, and read from where I left off. Still very gruesome to read, and became sad towards the end. I kind of cried at one point. Pre-teens (I guess?) having to survive in a crazy dangerous world that threatens to kill them every other step of the way is quite difficult to watch when things get very dark and gory. No wonder Wikipedia has it down as a seinen manga (I believe it’s equivalent to about older teen male, maybe?). It looks cutesy, however, it’s anything but. Two chapters into the next volume is supposed to be where the anime ends. I don’t think I can expect a happy ending from this story. Maybe despair, misery, and pain. I still have to find out what happens though, so I probably won’t stop reading because of this.

Probably the most heart wrenching volume yet, but I think this author really puts layers of thought into his writing. I'm addicted to the abyss and need to find out what happens next!

Omg the anime was sooooo amazing words can't do it justice. So i'm doing th manga and getting many subtleties out of it. Beautiful brushes -- a style unlike any other out there!

I love the art style and story line.Adventurous, exciting and full of wonder.Though, It's very dark in places...Great quality book print too,I have bought some other manga recently (the legend of Zelda ones), two out of three of those purchases the pages started falling out whilst on the first read through.But this publisher is all about quality.
