All Holztiger wooden animals, dinosaurs, and story characters are carved from maple, oak, birch, or beech wood to meet the demand of hard play. For extra safety, all sharp edges have been softened, and all figures are painted with non-toxic, water-based paint. To make the figure more resistant to perspiration and saliva, there is an additional non-toxic, satin-finish topcoat.

My granddaughter loves this toy and all her Holztiger toys. The Goose Girl is a perfect compliment . My daughter says the quality is exceptional and the children feel and smell these toys and love them. They don't like the smell of many of the plastic toys of today. I highly recommend all Holztiger toys.
